  1. In the last update of qualified athlete, ITTF has already confirmed Suthirta’s quota. Will confirm Manika’s quota in next update based on April rankings.
  2. We don't know who is going to win coin toss in China. I think with no Russia and no North Korea, China has big lead in 6 of the 7 weights (Taipei girl in 59kg being the lone exception).
  3. Honestly speaking, Olesk doesn’t care if Vijayveer qualifies for Olympics. And it is true for almost all the ranking quota winners. They don’t care about those who are behind them because there are so many good shooters ahead of them.
  4. Peeter Olesk of is the top ranked athlete in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men. If he wins the European quota, next in line is Vijayveer Siddhu of Sandra Bernal of is the top ranked athlete in Trap Women. If she wins the European quota, next in line is Safiye Sariturk of Irrespective of today's finals result, Mauro de Filippis of will be top ranked athlete in Trap Men. If Kynan Chenai of wins Gold in today's final, he would be next in line to inherit Mauro's ranking quota if any Italian wins the European quota, otherwise Andreas Loew of would be next in line. Of the Europeans who are in lead to get ranking quota, I feel only Mauro in Trap Men, Aneta in 10m Air Rifle Women and Amber in Skeet Women might participate in European qualifiers. In case of Mauro, there are other excellent Italian shooters who can win the European quota, so he has to participate. Amber might participate in the hope that she and a teammate can win 2 quotas at European. And for Aneta, it is a combination of both. For others, I didn't find any strong national competitors who might win their quota in Euro qualifiers, so they might skip it. Of course, there are two big 'ifs' in this. One, I have by no stretch of imagination, good knowledge of shooting scene in those countries, and the shooters might want to take part in Euro qualifiers, regardless to get some good practice. Edit: And it will be Andreas Loew of who will be next in line in Men's Trap.
  5. To me, it seemed like Peni was being petty. But, I don't know anything personal about Peni or Sidi, so am not the best person to comment on it.
  6. ISSF has clarified that Sidi was not cheating. After Peni objected, they rechecked Sidi's rifle and came to the conclusion that he was using bipod as a weight. Basically, everyone except Peni thought that since bipod was glued and can't be moved, classifying it as a bipod is technically correct but a bit silly. And for once, organizers sided with common sense instead of literal interpretation of law.
  7. Nope. German has 900+ points. So, Kynan needs to win Gold to overtake him. In the women's section, behind Poland is Irish girl at 350ish points. So, we may qualify if we finish 4th and top 3 are Poland + ineligible and Poland wins European quota.
  8. In a bizarre incident, forfeited their gold medal match in 50x3 Men's Team because Istvan Peni and Zavan Pekler raised objection on Peter Sidi's rifle. ISSF officials had no problem with the rifle but the two Hungarians refused to take part in finals alongside Sidi. Now, the final will be played between and . Link
  9. Steffen Olsen of is the top ranked athlete in 50x3 Men. If he wins the European quota, ranking quota will go to Jan Lochbihler of Ziva Dvorsak of is the top ranked athlete in 50x3 Women. If she wins the European quota, ranking quota will go to Arina Altukhova of Agate Rasmane of is the top ranked athlete in 25m Pistol Women. If she wins the European quota, ranking quota will go to Samantha Karen Quezada of
  10. Overall. You qualify an athlete in any event, through any means (ranking, competition, tripartite or even reallocation), you are ineligible for any more reallocations.
  11. All reallocations will go to NOC with no qualified shooters.
  12. She was there in the entry list. I am seeing some changes in other events as well. Seems we can’t trust the entry list.
  13. As far as I remember Aoife Gormally is competing here

  15. Ganemat came very close yesterday. At present is sure of Olympic quota but if she wins the quota at European qualifiers, it would go to . If Ganemat had gotten silver instead of Bronze, she would have been next in line to instead of . We are eligible for ranking quota only in 25m Pistol Men, Skeet W and Trap M/W. Skeet was a narrow miss. In Trap Men, we have to win Gold and hope that gets European quota, anything else is not good enough. In Trap Women, we have to overcome 350 point gap over and hope that wins the European quota. In 25m Pistol Men, there are only 15 entries, 4 of whom are not eligible. So, out of the remaining 11 shooters (x3, x2, x2, , , , ) the one who finishes highest will get the ranking quota. There is an additional quota on offer at European Championships, so the one finishing second also has a chance.
  16. There is a small issue with athletes skipping the European qualifiers. Their teammates may qualify there and then they would be out of Olympics.
  17. Official rankings will be released tomorrow but it should be Federico Gill in Men’s Skeet and Amber Hill followed by Zoya Kravchenko
  18. Yes, Gil should get the quota in Skeet as I don’t think Lonato WC will count towards ranking
  19. ISSF has published new rankings for Air events. Nam Taeyun of and Felipe Almeida Wu of are the top ranked shooters in 10m Air Rifle and 10m Air Pistol Men events respectively and hence should qualify for Tokyo. In Women’s Air Rifle, Aneta Stankeiwicz of is the top ranked shooter followed by Jenny Stenne of . If European quotas are won by Poland and Norway, ranking quota will go to Urska Kuharic In Women’s Air Pistol, Viktoria Chaika of is the top ranked athlete but she has 2 chances to qualify at European championships. Next in line is Alejandra Zavala Vazquez
  20. One small advice to all of you: Be extremely wary of anyone improving their PB by a big margin out of the blue just before Olympics. They are not likely to be near their previous PB as well in Olympics. Murali and Avinash don’t come in this category as their progression is gradual and not exponential.
  21. Yes. But, we can either exchange in Men or Women, not both. It all depends on who is selected in 10m events. If Anjum is selected in 10m event (most likely case at present), Chinki’s quota will be swapped for a Shotgun quota. If Anjum is not selected in 10m, Chinki’s quota will be swapped for Anjum in 50x3. If Tomar is selected in 10m (unlikely), a Rifle quota will be swapped either in Trap or in 25m Pistol, if Anish/others fail to get the quota. But, in that case we will simply return Chinki’s quota.
  22. With Apoorvi out, Maneesha’s chances have improved a lot. Moreover, there is decision to be made in 1m Air Rifle as well. Babuta has overtaken Deepak in ranking and Tomar isn’t far behind.
  23. Chaika has two chances in European championships. She is good in both pistol events. I think will only be a couple of points ahead of (may be tied as well), so need to wait and watch for that as well.
  24. Yes. Most likely he will get the ranking quota.
