Totallympics International Song Contest Special Event Meet the Players! In advance of the draw, it's time to find out the identity of the 30 participating users of the TISC Special

Ok, to get a headstart I am going to start revealing the participating users of the TISC Special now

The only thing about that is that I like having even number of jurors so that there is possibility of a draw in some group matches.

Totallympics International Song Contest Special Event The draw for TISC Special begins at 15:00 (GMT +1). The order of events is as follows: 1. Reveal list of participating users 2. Reveal list of participating nations 3. Reveal of Logo 4. Draw for Group Stages 5. Reveal of Slogan

Yeah groups of 3 is probably too little. Probably the fairest way is to have groups of 5. I will figure out then what is more practical, having matches with 6 or 8 judges.

I will need a couple of volunteers to help with conducting the draw if anyone is interested.

I’m not settled on it yet. We could also have 2 sets of three-way matches with judges asked to choose the 2 best from each match. The results from the group stage could be used to seed the matches: Three-way Match 1: (Seeds 1, 3, 6) Thee-way Match 2: (Seeds 2, 4, 5) Something like that maybe.

The plan is to start the draw at 15:00 (GMT +1) tomorrow. Tomorrow morning and afternoon is quite busy for me so I will let you know if I need to put the draw back a couple of hours in case. Firstly I will reveal the participating users. Then I will reveal the nations who will be participating. We then will proceed with the draw (nations will be divided into different pots based on their region / continent to provide an even spread). Finally @Olympian1010 will reveal the logo once the draw has been made. After that the participating songs will be revealed in various posts, group by group. I will spend Sunday updating the first post with the results of the draw and the links to each song and figuring out how to sort out how to allocate the judges to the various matches.

So I have 3 chances to win! I like (just kidding )

I can now confirm that all 30 registered users have chosen their nations and the song / artists with which they will enter. Therefore there will be no disqualifications! I think 30 might be the final number unless we get some last-minute miraculous new entries

27 / 30 songs have now been selected by those registered. Just waiting on 3 more and I have sent a final reminder to each. We are so close to getting to 32 users which would allow us to do a FIFA WC style tournament (8 groups of 4), but I don't think we will reach that far

Maybe I already entered . Although I may enter the contest, in order to keep things fair, I would not take part in the judging (since I am the only one who knows who entered with what song).

However, you will not discover which user has chosen which nation at this time.

Yes 20 matches per judge would be quite a lot. I think for group stages we might have to go for fewer judges, 8 or 6 judges.

And today we received the 25th registered user. However they have yet to select their nation so it’s still provisional. We may still get another couple in this final week. I will also be sending out reminders from tomorrow for any registered user that has not yet chosen their entry.
