  1. Bailey should win, his biggest threat would be bouldering as I doubt he'll finish any lower the second in lead. The athlete with the best chance to match him points total is Granja, but he'll need to have a better bouldering and lead performance. I guess Duffy also has a chance too
  2. Yip should have qualified earlier, it's unfortunate she had to take a spot from one of the South American competitors.
  3. I'm confused with the results page. The speed and bouldering results looks wrong. But is in first and on pace to win so I don't mind
  4. Big weekend for unqualified nations, of the 54 remaining nations, five of them are not eligible for tripartite invitations and must qualify by merit (minus athletics/swimming)
  5. Using a page from the Asia table tennis text book I see. He's currently the highest ranked eligible athlete with almost a 1200 point lead over the closest athlete, assuming nothing too crazy happens over the next few months he should qualify to the Olympics.
  6. has qualified its first quota as Diaw upset Aruna. Aruna must now defeat Hmam to qualify to the Olympics
  7. Olympic Standings (After Day 4) Men's RS:X - 202 - 214 Women's RS:X - 220 - 442
  8. Wikipedia is correct They had a qualifier back on Feb 9th. Here's the media release (in Japanese)
  9. Group A is much tougher, any of the three could qualify with Aruna. I think the two losers would have had a great chance in the other group.
  10. Yeah, this was their best chance to qualify... Athletics only allows one spot now and they did not participate at the world aquatics championships so no swimmers.
  11. Olympic Standings (After Day 3) Men's RS:X - 150 - 174 Women's RS:X - 144 - 353
  12. Cameroon's Sarah Hanffou should grab a quota too, assuming no group of death next round it should go to
  13. Just noticed, water polo will have 13 athletes, the same as 2016 (originally it was suppose to be 11 athletes)
  14. Just noticed, water polo will have 13 athletes, the same as 2016 (originally it was suppose to be 11 athletes)
  15. Number of quotas won - 7 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 The remaining seven quotas will be decided in a box-off Women's Flyweight vs. Men's Flyweight vs. Men's Featherweight vs. Men's Lightweight vs. Men's Welterweight vs. Men's Middleweight vs. Men's Light Heavyweight vs. Both Ghana and Uganda will be competing in four events
  16. Yeah, all NOCs have an athletic federation so even if you are in the unique situation where you are not eligible for a tripartite quota and did not participate at the World Aquatics Championships you can still send an athlete. The IOC also has special powers to award additional quotas to anyone (this was done in 2016 to allow women to compete for Saudi Arabia) so if it came down to it the IOC will just make a quota for the nation to compete, assuming they really wanted to compete.
  17. Olympic Standings (After Day 2) Men's RS:X - 100 - 116 Women's RS:X - 69 - 226 After a poor first day, New Zealand's woman finished in the top six in all three of her races on the second day. If she keeps this up New Zealand will likely accept the quota. Australia took the lead over New Zealand in the men's event.
  18. Iran (and Afghanistan) are part of "Middle Asia" and will compete there. Apparently both nations will compete in the 2021 Central Asia Games
  19. Senegal has a bunch of chances (canoeing, fencing, judo, table tennis, wrestling) remaining. Congo on the other hand had a good year in 2016 which caused them to go above the tripartite threshold. They'll drop back down for 2024 as they are on pace for 2-4 athletes this year. Cameroon has had bad luck, but they still have a bunch of chances, including football.
  20. 11 year old Hend Zaza defeats 2016 Olympian Mariana Sahakian Don't know the score...
  21. So the finals are... Men's Singles vs. Women's Singles vs. Hopefully the results won't be too hard to find...
  22. Yeah now that Mauritius qualified they are now among the final three non-tripartite African nations without a quota (along with and ) Interestingly enough all three have a chance at qualifying in table tennis later this week (should Cameroon not qualify here)
