  1. If anyone wants to work for World Archery they have a news editor position available. You work remotely. @Olympian1010
  2. Hoping for a Honduras upset, though it'll be unlikely
  3. In terms of Olympic qualification, we have the Pan American wrestling qualifiers and European boxing qualifiers set to begin this weekend. As for events ending next weekend we still have the African Sport Climbing Championships though based on the starting list it might as well be a national championship. No word on the women's handball Olympic qualification tournament though.
  4. still looking for results, but along with Marzouk, Mariam Selim won silver and Lilica Burger won bronze
  5. Looks like Haiti and Honduras (plus their athlete in W +67kg from yesterday) are making a good case for a tripartite quota should they not qualify.
  6. Any idea where the results will be posted? Overall Egypt should be the favourite to win the individual and group quotas. Tripartite eligible nations will also show what they got.
  7. Are there exemptions eventing athletes can apply for? They might need it...
  8. African Championship has been postponed to June as well. I imagine they will extend the period deadline
  9. This will be Zambia's first World competition in the women's senior level. While Chile should be the favourite, I'd still give Cameroon a chance to qualify in the inter-continental play-off.
  10. No, just reading updates from the Zambia Football Association (and everyone's complaints of the lack of streaming ).
  11. Zambia scores the first goal and is up 2-0 at half-time, if it holds they will qualify 4-3 on aggregate.
  12. If one more continent postpones it (and all three are past April 30th) I imagine IWF will be forced to change their qualification rules. Possibly five events with this qualification period being optional.
  13. With Japan qualifying two athletes in the women's competition they will not be awarded any host quotas in the women's events meaning they are all reallocated to the World Qualification Tournament.
  14. I think it's fine. There are enough "World Quotas" to offset any minor favouritism. Asia may win more World quotas than Europe in the lighter categories, but I doubt we'd have a scenario where the 12th ranked Asian nation is a lot better than the eighth rank European nation.
  15. Yeah, at best this puts them into the conversation for a medal. If they can repeat this performance they will likely get a medal, but the best they could do is silver IMO. Germany would need to have a horrible day to not win team gold in dressage right now.
  16. Then I hope the JOC will force the IOC to share some of its media revenue. That would probably scare any nation from ever hosting the event if they are going to lose that much money.
  17. It essentially kept track on who has qualified to the Olympics.
  18. Tajikistan with one more chance today to try and qualify to the Olympics. They also still have two more athletes in box-off position, three should they go 0-3 in the quarterfinals.
  19. That's a shame, I worked a bit with him. My guess is he appeared to be a bit too official so I imagine the IOC got him for impersonation.
  20. It's an historic relic when traveling was expensive that's only kept because no one (Brazil/Canada/United States) wants more competition for the team quotas.
  21. Yeah it's only a matter of time before North and Latin America are merged. They are already hosting a Pan American Championship. I don't feel too bad as more often than not Canada is good enough to qualify one athlete in a hypothetical combined tournament, potentially two on good years. The issue is that both sides don't want to have a singe spot for the team and mixed doubles event
  22. And now the women Women's Flyweight (6 Quotas) vs vs vs vs Women's Featherweight (4 Quotas) vs vs vs vs Women's Lightweight (4 Quotas) vs vs vs vs Women's Welterweight (4 Quotas) vs vs vs vs Women's Middleweight (4 Quotas) vs vs vs vs
