Some updates after frist 2 heat in men's 4th round:

Oceania: Billy Stairmand won his heat and advanced to round 5, top30 (and quota for Oceania) is now sure

Africa: Nothing to do for Bouchgua, that was eliminated. Bouchgua need to don't finish in the 4th place in his repechage round, or the Africa's Continental quota will be on trouble.

    Europe:  Morais is out, still 5 European in the 4th round (2x , 2x , 1x )

End of the day. We didnt have the main round 4 for men. Lets sum up that

    Women

Oceania - Paige Hareb  advanced on competition, and keeps being the best from her country.

Africa - Sarah Baum and Zoe Steyn  advanced at repechage, they still have a long way till the quotas. South Africa still has a third athlete to compete, meanwhile  had one surfer eliminated, and two to competing yet.

Asia - Shino Matsuda  is the last one at main round. She is some steps ahead of her rivals.

Europe -  is unstoppable. All surfers at main round, even Defay who is ineligible.  is also competitive with two athletes.

     and  have one athlete each.

    Men

Europe -  advance with two surfers. But Fioravanti likely will be ineligible.  and  are in contender with one athlete.

Asia -  has its full team qualified. And  keeps bothering them with Rio Waida and I Ketut Agus. We might have direct dispute for the Asian quota.

Africa - Teva  keeps fighting for his spot, he is the only African at main round.

Oceania - Billy Stairmand  Is in the same situation of his compatriot, Paige. He is the favorite for this quota

They are using the same criteria as before meaning any nation with an average of 8 or fewer individual athletes at the 2 previous Games are eligible for those Tripartite Universality places. 93 nations are eligible this time.
The International Judo Federation has the official Olympic document published on their website:

Candelaria Resano  advanced for Main Round 4, and if my calculations are right, she is now eligible for an universality quota.

Even if she loses all heats, she will finish at least on 46th position.

Yesterday we also had the end of Main Round 2 for women

Europe -  are yet on main round. Germany is the favorite up this moment, with full team.

Africa - No athletes from this continent on main round, we might have a reallocation here.

Oceania - Only Paige Hareb  is here. She was, and still is the favorite for this quota

Asia -  advanced with its three surfers. No  or , but surprisingly, we have a  surfer there.

Candelaria  is also in a great position for a Universality Quota

Today we are going to advance a lot at Main Rounds, with phase 3 and 4 for men, and 3 for women

Silvana Lima is already qualified to 2023 Panamaerican Games. The Surfing World Games gives 5 quotas to countries that haven't qualified yet (max 2), so there is a chance for Luana Silva to qualify too. Chile (2), Argentina (1), Canada (2), Barbados (1), Colombia (1), Equador (1), Peru (2) and Brazil (1) are already qualified.

Main Round 2 is completed for men, and these are the closest countries to the quotas

Europe -  and the undedogs from  and

Italy is the one european country which advanced all surfers. Impressive not seeing Glatzer , Dillon  and Ribeiro  on this phase.

Oceania -  is the only country from this continent here, apart of ineligible . They have two surfers, and I believe they won't have troubles to confirm their quota with one of them.

Africa - A huge surprise from Africa, with only one athelte from . And not even their best surfer. Imo, Teeva Bouchgua would be their third best surfer. Jordy Smith  is also advancing but he will probably be ineligible.

Asia -  has its full team qualified, meanwhile their main opponent  has only two. Anyway, it is gonna be interesting see who will take it. Especially because Igarashi and Waida are fighting for the last spot in WSL, right now. There is a chance that the second best asian surfer here, take the quota eventually.

Also, good news for . If @JoshMartini007post about the Tripartite Invitation is right, they have a huge chance to be the first, and so far the only nation eligible for this invitation, in main round. They have two surfers among the best.

    @Adriano That's it!

Basically, there are two paths: Main Round and Repechage Round. All the surfers start in the Main Round, and they need to keep winning on it. That means, finishing on 1st or 2nd places until the Final Round.

If they "lose", finishing on 3rd or 4th places, they will be relegated to Repechage Rounds, were they have to surfer twice more than in the Main Round. There, they can't lose their heats anymore, otherwise they will be eliminated.

It's like a double elimination, two losts and goodbye!

First day of the event, and no big surprises. Apart of Mirna Boelsma  and Zoe Steyn  who didn't advance and are already in the repechage rounds.
Great news for Sarah Baum  who is by far the favorite for women's african quota.
Highlight also to  surfer, who won his heat!
