On the other hand, the Lithuanian future is not something that anybody wants to see

What a shame, we nearly had a historical competition for Lithuania, where all three athletes would have made the pursuit.
Unfortunately, Kaukėnas will fall down to 61st
But, it is great that this is the second sprint and it is points again for Lithuania with Vytautas Strolia finishing 31st, exactly where Tomas finished in Ostersund.
Karol Dombrovski really dug deep to finish 53rd with two mistakes even. This is the man that struggled to get into top 60 when he shot 0+0.
A very honourable mention also goes to Natalija Kočergina for the 43rd in the women's sprint.
THAT IS THREE WHOLE LITHUANIANS IN THE PURSUITS FOR THE WEEKEND

Thanks @Olympian1010! ☺️ It's a shame you couldn't watch the live streaming.
About my race, you lost nothing. It was a shit day ?
Misses were gotten by stupid mistakes (good position, wrong timing: on prone, first miss was like 1cm away; second miss was on the edge. On standing, both misses away (shot faster than I should) and all hits on the prone target) and, skiing with 4kg on my back is something I need to get used again. I had power to go faster, but no technique by easily losing balance for being not used to race with the rifle on my back, so I felt stuck on the track. Saturday is gonna be another experience and I hope in Obertilliach I am already used to that again.
Thanks to everyone who was cheering

aaaand no W relay for us in Hochfilzen...
Terézia Poliaková did not travel to Hochfilzen at the beginning of the week due to illness.
The doctor prescribed her antibiotics. so this Saturday Slovakia will not field a relay again and will compete in the sprint only with three starters both Fialková sisters (still not 100% sure for Pauliana) and the young Veronika Machyniaková in her desperate attempt to save the world cup quota also for next trimester.

Yes, it's behind that login wall ? we athletes have no access to that, but the federations do.

Love being able to choose which camera I want to watch. I’d love to see something like this implemented in the Olympics.

So a really funny google translated article about the Swiss women's relay team.
Best line - "The youngest in the family trio, Aita, is a purposeful, serious sheepfighter and is very busy in training."
Two interesting articles about the Russia situation.
The first is the Moscow Times, an anti-Putin newspaper -
Alexander Tikhonov, four-time Olympic biathlon champion:
“We got what we deserved. We have so many former athletes in the State Duma, couldn’t they sort out this mess? I am with WADA on this one.”
The second is Sebastian Samuelsson, someone who has been very vocal against doping had some harsh words to say.
It's strange that you make a difference between a championship and a World Cup and it becomes strange that active ones that you don't think are clean enough to compete in a championship will compete in the World Cup, says Samuelsson.

At least Taynara da Silva will represent Brazil in Pokjluka, making her IBU debut.

Not sure if there's going to be anyone else, but I'm sure @brunamoura can fill us in on that (and potential Australians and New Zealanders going there).

I remember a few years back Canada allowed themselves to fall out of the top 20 through coaches not paying attention. As a result they could only send one athlete per sex to the Vancouver Olympics!

Some sad news, the Minnesota National Guard had a helicopter crash this past week. One of those that died, Sgt. Kort Miller Plantenberg, was a member of the Minnesota NG Biathlon team. Condolences to all of those who died and their friends and family.
