  1. An honest Team Canada fan and an HONEST assessment of your team.
  2. Team Canada has Victor Lapena, supposedly one of the best women's international coaches in the world. I do not see anyone blaming Lapena. Therefore, the blame must fall on the PLAYERS. Kia Nurse COULD have potentially scored enough points to defeat Spain and Japan. But her absence only magnifies the fact that Team Canada does not have the talent or depth to be a consistent FIBA medal contender.
  3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disgrace_of_Gijón Ask Germany how it is done.
  4. Tell FIBA to change their qualification procedures. FIBA is a EUROPEAN organization. Many people believe that FIBA is as corrupt as FIFA. FIBA would LOVE to have the power, influence, and $$$ that FIFA has.
  5. France look very sharp. IF Team France can CONTINUE to play in Paris like they have in XI'AN China, they could win a Bronze or even possibly meet Team USA in the final.
  6. Spain SHOULD win this tournament. Spain and Japan are under the MOST pressure to qualify for FIBA's 2024 Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament. Spain missed FIBA's 2021 Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament & FIBA's 2022 Women's Basketball World Cup. They want REDEMPTION! Japan wants/needs to prove that their 2021 Women's Olympic Basketball Silver Medal was not a fluke. Olympic Basketball Tournament. 1. Can Team Canada qualify? 2. Will they place 2nd, 3rd, or 4th?
  7. If you have a TRUE world class program, the draw is not even a consideration. However, IF Team Canada can "qualify" for the Olympics and manage to knock off Australia, I will cheer for you all the way.
  8. Team USA announces roster for FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp https://www.fiba.basketball/oqtwomen/belgium/2024/news/star-studded-usa-squad-ready-to-shine-in-antwerp-mission The roster I would send 15 Brittney Griner C 6-9 age 33 Top five center on the planet: Last Competition 30 Aliyah Boston C 6-5 age 21 Traditional center, top three young center on the planet, can bang in the block 9 A’ja Wilson PF 6-5 age 27 Best player on the planet 10 Breanna Stewart F 6-6 age 27 Top three player on the planet 11 Napheesa Collier F/G 6-1 age 27 Top three SF on the planet 13 Rhyne Howard SF/SG 6-2 age 23 Top three SF/SG on the planet 17 Kahleah Copper F/G 6-1 age 29 Top fifteen player on the planet 8 Chelsea Gray PG 5-11 age 31 Top ten PG on the planet: Last Competition 5 Kelsey Plum PG 5-8 age 29 Top ten PG on the planet 40 Jackie Young SG 6-0 age 26 Top ten SG on the planet 4 Jewell Loyd SG 5-10 age 30 Second unit rotation player 35 Allisha Gray G 6-0 age 28 Second unit rotation player Camp players 7 Ariel Atkins G 5-7 27 6 Sabrina Ionescu G 5-11 25 14 Betnijah Laney G/F 6-0 30 34 Arike Ogunbowale G 5-8 26 12 Diana Taurasi G 6-0 41 43 Alyssa Thomas F 6-2 31
  9. We have 20 days until FIBA's WOQT Tournaments begin. Please post YOUR predictions on which nations qualify and which nations earn a trip to the glue factory. Glue Factory Qualified Australia or Germany Team USA FIBA's Women's 2022 World Champion Nigeria or Senegal France New Zealand Canada or Hungary Will Qualify Brazil & Serbia Belgium China & Puerto Rico Japan & Spain Medal Contenders Gold: Team USA - ANYTHING less than Gold is FAILURE! Silver: China - They are ranked number 2 in the world. It is time to PROVE their world ranking is not a fluke. Bronze: Belgium 6th, France 7th, Japan 9th, Serbia 10th, & Spain 4th. The MOST at risk country is Australia. Their frontline is OLD. Lauren Jackson Center Born: 11 May 1981 (age 43) Height: 195cm / 6'5" Marianna Tolo: Center Born: 02 Jul 1989 (age 35) Height: 196cm / 6'5" Cayla George: Forward Born: 01 May 1989 (age 35) Height: 193cm / 6'4" Ezi Magbegor Forward Born 13 Aug 1999 (age 25) Height: 193cm / 6'4" Bec Allen: Small Forward Born: 06 Nov 1992 (age 31) Height: 188cm / 6'2" Sara Blicavs: Power Forward Born: 15 Feb 1993 (age 31) Height: 188cm / 6'2" Alanna Smith: Forward Born: September 10, 1996 (Age: 27-131d) 6-4 (193cm) Average age is 32.42 years old They have at best one decent "point guard" maybe and one sporadically ser- viceable shooting guard. Sami Whitcomb: Guard Born: 20 Jul 1988 (age 36) Height: 178cm / 5'10" Tess Madgen: Guard Born: 12 Aug 1990 (age 34) Height: 180cm / 5'11" These two guards have a combined age of 70. Jade Melbourne: Guard Born: August 18, 2002 (Age: 21-154d) 5-11 (180cm) Isobel Borlase: Guard Born: 12 Sep 2004 (age 19) Height: 180cm / 5'11" Steph Reid: Point Guard Born 22 July 1996 (age 27) Height 5 ft 6 in (1.68 m) These three guards have a combined age of 67. Even IF Australia qualifies for the Olympics, their frontline is TOO old and they do not have the point/shooting guards to compete against Belgium, Japan, Serbia, Spain, or even France.
  10. Look at what the Team Canadian Girls U19 Team did in Spain. They BEAT the French for a Bronze Medal WITHOUT Prosper for the bronze medal game. I watched that game and I was pulling for Canada all the way. They played France straight up & went right at them. If you have a TRUE world class program, the draw is not even a consideration. However, IF Team Canada can manage to knock off Australia, I will cheer for you all the way.

  12. According to another poster at another website: So Canada have to finish top-three in a group with Spain, Japan and Hungary. Meanwhile all Puerto Rico need to do is beat New Zealand. Canada may regret not finding a way to lose that game today... Canada needed a near A Team to beat an under-strength PR Team by a mere 9 points. I can tell you right now Canada might not qualify for the 2024 Olympic Women's Basketball Tournament. And they most certainly will not medal at the 2024 Olympics. Canada's roster does not have ONE WNBA All- Star, much less a world class player. Canada has a good jockey {Victor LaPena} riding an old sway- back horse destined for the GLUE factory.
  13. Present the roster you expect your country will send to their designated 2024 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Then present the roster you would LIKE your country to send to their designated 2024 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Finally, present your country's very best roster that they can send to the 2024 Women's Paris Olympic Basketball Tournament. I define success for a national team program as placing at or above your FIBA Rank- ing in EVERY major Tournament. Players with an asterisk do not have any or recent Team USA experience. 1.
