Women's BMX semi was going at the same time as the 100m final and I had the double screen up - solid 3rd place finish for Mechielsen in the first heat

WOW! What a race, that was awesome. I figured the Kiwis would surely catch them after they came out to such a hot start, but that strategy worked. Now onto Penny to try and make it 2.

Canada with its best ever performance in judo. 4 of 6 athletes were in medal matches, 2 won medals (most at one edition). Hoping for more in Paris.

For sure the Russians are doping (imo), wouldn't be surprised. Their teammates got caught for Meldonium... not a stretch to believe the whole team might be as well.

Devin Heroux tweeted there would be 3 subs - My guess is that its Sanchez doing the lead off then Smith/McIntosh (maybe reversed) and Oleksiak as the anchor. 

Day 5 was a relatively quiet day which saw Canada still win one medal.
 
Day 6 has medal chances in judo (men's -100kg), rowing (men's pair and women's pair) and swimming (women's 4x200m freestyle relay). I'd also keep an eye on fencing (women's team foil), France is definitely beatable and while any of the other semi-finalists would be a long-shot, having an opportunity for the upset could result in a shocking medal.

Based on qualification probably not. Hoping she can somehow pull a medal on beam.

Looking at the splits from the relay heats - Rebecca Smith with a 1:55.9 and Marie-Sophie Harvey with a 1:57:5 looks promising. Not sure if they are going to get Sanchez to double up too.

Tsitsipas looks very injured, he can barely walk.

Thankfully today/tomorrow morning looks like we can sleep in. I really need it
