  1. you ask a lot of questions that are pretty obvious
  2. Canada's goal is at least 19 medals (one better than in 2012) and top 12 in overall medals.
  3. His qualifying time was not accepted by Athletics Canada because it was raced in altitude.
  4. I'd bet Bingham will start the 100 ,she will be recovered from injury by then (hopefully). Hyacinthe has no chance for a medal in the 100, let her focus on the relay (and 200, her best event).
  5. Barring any last minute changes, Canada's team size will be 313 athletes.
  6. Some surprising omissions such as Levins and Smith. This team could have easily been over 70 athletes.
  7. 8. That is the FINA world rankings tool... its been up for quite some time now
  9. Its sarcasm, for Qatar's handball team, which is made up almost exclusively of bought European players.
  10. 11. Smith switched to compete for Jamaica in the last week -_-, so no men's long jump for Canada.
  12. Canada qualifies a second men's team... meaning Canada has a full contingent for Rio
  13. That is actually a ethnic Tamil name! Maybe he is Sri Lankan
  14. I think so, if they show competitive readiness. Athletics Canada approves Cliff's race, but ultimately the IAAF decides.
  15. Yup top 2 at trials (as long as they have the standard) + a 3rd discretionary pick by selectors. I didn't include Cliff's name because the IAAF has not confirmed her qualifying time as being official yet (it was a mixed gender race).
  16. First day of Canadian Trials Men's 5000 Mohammed Ahmed Luc Bruchet Cam Levins Women's 5000m Andrea Seccafien Jessica O'Connell Italics = Possible addition to team by selectors (not a top 2 finish at trials, but have the standard).
  17. Luckily this year I am a student, and my last class' assignment is due on August 4! Great timing if you ask me
