  1. Too good that they will qualify through rankings perhaps?
  2. Rachel Homan will represent
  3. 28 nations will qualify for Pyeongchang. Sadly drops out of the list
  4. This is CBC'S (Canadian tv) Olympic theme:
  5. Wow Jamaica in 7th place!! Incredible
  6. skier had a race in the masters category and he was under the 140 FIS points needed to qualify. I wonder if this applies to Olympic qualification?
  7. Canada qualifies both team pursuits for Pyeongchang!
  8. Nothing better than delusional Russians!
  9. She needs surgery but won't do it now as that would any Olympic hopes.
  10. Update on Julia Marino tore her labrum, which explains her result in her first race.
  11. Russia will compete under a neutral flag as "Olympics athletes of Russia" What a joke.
  12. did not finish first race. finished 31 seconds back of winner She is a good skier, so I hope she can turn it around skiers started qualifications, and their FIS points are above 300... unlikely to compete in PyeongChang
  13. Unlikely he qualifies
  14. AND first medals?
  15. She would need to finish relatively close to them. I would go for the "easier" field
  16. The exotic countries for the sport. Like Turkey, Serbia etc.
  17. I don't think the IOC will ban Russia. They don;t have the guts to do it --- Also skier will start next weekend to get below 300.
  18. Looks like a DQ http://live.isuresults.eu/2017-2018/worldcup/wc1_6000.htm
  19. Update on qualification situation: 83 nations have officially qualified at least one athlete. I have not included either or as neither have any eligible athletes. has also not registered their figure skating pairs meaning they have 0 athletes qualified as well. These nations will likely qualify (or will) by the end of the qualification period: India (men's luge) Nigeria (women's bobsleigh and skeleton) Tonga (cross country skiing, thanks to "Project Bogota"). Moldova (alpine skiing, cross country skiing, men's luge) Chinese Taipei (speed skating, 3 athletes) Philippines (alpine skiing, their athlete will start later this month to qualify and has the level). These nations have some work to do to qualify: Algeria (Men's snowboard slopestyle, just got his top 30 performance today) Venezuela (alpine skiing) Paraguay (alpine skiing, same athlete competed in 2014, but different sport) Hong Kong (they have a couple of alpine skiiers who need more results under 140 points to qualify, but their level is all over the place). Ghana (men's skeleton, with the new system from the IBSF he is just outside qualification). Virgin Islands (women's skeleton). These nations have athletes competing, but unlikely to qualify. Barados (Freestyle slopestyle) Sri Lanka (Cross country skiing) Jordan (alpine skiing) Nepal (cross- country skiing, their athlete is around the 400 point level and doesn't look like that will change). Trinidad and Tobago (cross- country skiing, their athlete is around the 400 point level and doesn't look like that will change). Unknown and unlikely: Dominican Republic (recently the FIS uploaded a bio on an alpine skier) Tajikistan (their alpine skiers have not competed this year and unlikely to qualify). Afghanistan (their alpine skiers have not competed this year and unlikely to qualify) Will not qualify as their athletes compete in sports that have finished qualification: Indonesia My guess is the 83 nations (minus Puerto Rico who will decline) + first set of nations above + Venezuela, Paraguay and Hong Kong will qualify. Meaning 91 nations will compete in PyeongChang. However, that amount can go higher...
