  3. The combined one is personally and the downhill I remember reading here somewhere,.. it wasn't posted by me.
  4. I think its actually the FIS. Also earlier it was reported that the FIS wanted a 2 run downhill. Which means the Super G will be under threat too (if the FIS makes this a 2 run event as well). THis is being done to "increase television viewers" It also increases the ability for places without high enough mountains to host too... which is a problem for the IOC right now.
  5. Hayley Wickenheiser, greatest women's hockey player ever, perhaps? 4 time Olympic gold medalist and one time silver medalist.
  6. Got it from a source that alpine combined is going to be dropped from the Olympics. I would assume the FIS will want to replace it, perhaps with a parallel event?
  7. We have 88 + Olympic Athlete from Russia (89) nations qualified so far. These will qualify Nigeria Jamaica Should qualify: Ghana Tonga Just outside qualification and need better results Paraguay Tajikistan Venezuela (though her results are getting worse....) Algeria Toss up on qualification Trinidad and Tobago Nepal ??? North Korea If everyone above qualifies that would be 100! nations
  8. Birmingham to host the 2022 Commonwealth games.
  9. Volleyball qualification system for 2019 Pan Am Games in Peru http://www.norceca.net/Pan American Cups will be qualifiers to Pan Am Games.htm
  10. An update on he is planning on racing in Iceland, but does not have access to wax facilities. Does anyone know any clubs that can help him out or any suggestions for him?
  11. 146 today... slowly but surely getting there. Also a skier from got just over 140 today as well.
  12. Athlete of the year is Joey Votto (Baseball)
  13. Who would get reallocation spots? @dcro
  14. A Tajik skier scored 168 FIS points and so maybe they will be a late qualifier.
  15. Men's, Women's and mixed relays have been added to the 2019 Pan American Games program.
  16. Okay it has been confirmed the USA has received the 7th spot.
  17. Canada's funding for this season dropped to just 50k, compared with over a million the season prior
  18. I think they will. In 2014 they did not allow their skier to compete because he had 141 FIS points (the FIS still gave him a quota though).
  19. Some good news: will compete! The Puerto Rico Olympic Committee has given the winter sports federation a 6 month approval of membership, which will allow Charles Flaherty to compete in alpine skiing.
  20. has two skiers in cross country, one scored 2000+ points. The other competed in two races in Canada (one sprint and one interval start) and finished last in both
  21. Russia's women's hockey team is dqd from Sochi. This means they would have not qualified through the rankings for Pyeongchang. I wonder if any of the teams that did not make it will raise this point!
