  1. . A coach who has first-hand experience with the Chinese squad told me he thought the scores against Canada and the US could be in the region of 100-0. would love to see this
  2. Two athletes broke South Asian records recently. Now these results are not that impressive, but both results would have qualified for Rio for ex. Ushan Thiwanka - High jump - 2.30 m Yupun Abeykoon - 100m - 10.15
  3. That's the plan. They are sending athletes in events where more quotas can be earned, ie the two you listed. Even though the best C1 1000 athlete is already qualified in the C2.
  4. Canada is sending athletes in events not qualified yet....but if they were to compete in K1....it would have to come out of these 6 names. I'd suspect Mark for the 200.
  5. Named it men's kayak team Mark De Jonge, Nick Matveev, Pierre-Luc Poulin, and Simon McTavish (Men's K4 500m) Brian Malfesi and Vincent Jourdenais (Men’s K2 1000m)
  6. Shh don't let Thomas Bach see this
  7. has officially named Stephanie Barrett for the women's event
  8. Games moved to Nov 25 to Dec 5
  9. Team Canada https://softball.ca/news/womens-softball-team-nominated-to-represent-team-canada-at-tokyo-2020.htm
  10. Interesting. Is this new? They didn't decline in 2016 and had an older athlete
  11. I am not sure... the tournament software ranking is different and labeled as of May 11 2021.
  12. Why would they decline? Tough qualification standard?
  13. Double starters are in the tournament software ranking. It has the top 40 scheduled to play.
  14. Rip missing out on a quota by one spot.
  15. Apparently based on Lima 2019...
  16. Taekwondo quotas (the qualification tournament was cancelled, so countries are assigned total spots) 6 (declined 2) / / (4 each) / / / (3 each) / / / / (2 each), (2 as well, but declined 2) (1 each) 5 wild cards left over
  17. team M1X - Trevor Jones - first senior competition for him, former two time world champion in the U-23 age category in this event, would like for him to qualify LM2X Maxwell Lattimer and Patrick Keane - 9th in 2019 Worlds, should qualify here, if they row like they did in 2019 M4- Will Crothers, Jakub Buczek, Luke Gadsdon, Gavin Stone, the four survivors from the purge of the men's eights from 2019. Gadsdon didn't compete in 2019 either. Hoping for the best.
  18. There was a small high performance meet in Toronto for swimmers based there. Here are some key results: Men: Finlay Knox, 20, broke the NR in the 200im, swimming to a 1:58.88. Women: Summer McIntosh, 14, smashed an age group record in the 200m, 1:57.65, beating the prior time set by Taylor Rock at 2:00.52. Maggie MacNeil/Rebecca Smith/Kayla Sanchez all had personal bests in the 100m, which bodes well for the 4x100 relay. However, some troubling results too for ex. Taylor Ruck was only 5th in the 100m
  19. Well they are limiting how long you can be at the village for, so its not likely to hit close to 10k at a time.
  20. He is already qualified in the 5000, and is talking about doing the double, which mind you has heats on the same day
  21. Interesting to see on the entry list
  22. Me when I saw the Irish flag:
  23. Not sure what to think anymore https://ceylontoday.lk/news/nocsl-confirms-milka-s-olympic-qualification
