  7. Scientifically speaking it’s impossible to not identify with either gender? Again, you’re either a male, or a female. You can’t switch genders, nor is transgender (or anything other than male/female) a real gender. Anyway, I’m not trying to argue about this all day long, it’s pretty pointless. I can understand that opinions on this subject matter vary and that’s perfectly fine.
  8. Yannick Schwaller & Briar Schwaller win the Swiss Mixed Doubles World Trials, and will represent Switzerland at the upcoming Mixed Doubles World Championships.
  9. I identify as Mondo Duplantis Does that make me a pole vault World Record holder? No.
  10. You’re right, I must’ve had Hiltz confused with another athlete. It’s now fine from my perspective that she competes in women’s events. But you can’t identify as non-binary, you’re either a male or a female and that’s that. Hiltz is a female. All the various pronouns (he/her/she/they/them/xer?) are bullshit.
  11. For some added context, Hiltz is biologically a male, but has since then “transitioned to a female” (Hiltz is transgender) Hiltz is still a male, regardless. Whatever gender you are born with is the gender that you keep for the rest of your life, and it’s either male or female. Now I’m not transphobic or anything (I couldn’t care less about what they do), I just find it incredibly unfair that she’s taking opportunities away from biological female athletes as a man pretending to be a women. I’m surprised that no women have spoken up about the matter. There’s no real solution for her situation though, if WA created a transgender category in sport the competition level would be ridiculously low, and I don’t see Hiltz agreeing to compete in the men’s events. Just my thoughts on the matter, obviously opinions will differ from person to person.
  12. Hiltz on the podium with a silver
  13. No WR for Duplantis, after a third attempt failure at 6.24m.
  14. having themselves a meet
  15. What is Dominican Republic doing with much smaller nations like Saint Lucia and Benin? Haven’t they always been winning plenty of global medals in various sports?
  16. Yarigo on the podium with a bronze
  17. Very surprising given his earlier failures at lower heights. I don’t see him clearing it today, but I’m hoping I’m wrong
  18. Duplantis over 6.05m!
  19. WR for Charlton in the women’s 60m hurdles 7.65!! Holy fuck. Edit: Is this the first ever World Indoor Champion from the Bahamas?
  20. What a finish to the heptathlon
  21. Not me predicting Brume to win a women’s long jump medal, only to find out that she’s not even competing
  22. Men’s sabre team qualifies for Paris as the highest ranked nation from the Pan Americas (outside the top four) through the Olympic Rankings!
  23. Well there goes our hope of qualifying in trap. I wish we had secured a quota (obviously) but we’ve had so many bad results throughout the OQP that I’m hardly disappointed. I’ve kind of just learned to accept it.
  24. Women’s Final Gold- Sally Fitzgibbons (13.10 / 6.83+ 6.27) Silver- Tatiana Weston-Webb (12.24 / 6.77+ 5.47) Bronze- Johanne Defay (12.00 / 6.00 + 6.00) Copper- Nadia Erostarbe (9.57 / 4.90 + 4.67)
