  2. Mixed day for Canada, but pretty good overall results on Day 3 of the ISU WC in Beijing. 1-2 for Canada in the men’s 500m, as Jordan Pierre-Gilles wins gold and Steven Dubois winning silver. Men’s 5000m relay also wins gold. On the other hand, disaster for William Dandjinou in the men’s 1000m as he gets penalized (a well deserved one though unfortunately) for coming into contact with a skater after initially finishing first, and our women’s 3000m relay (finished second originally) as they get penalized for a inactive skater on the track.
  3. @Dennis have a question about the mascots that they hand out to eventual medal winners. Is this Bing Dwen Dwen (Beijing 2022 Olympic mascot) in an outfit?
  4. Cancel the entire season at this point.
  5. If you’re into drama, I highly suggest you watch the women’s 500m semifinal 2 back. 4 (!!) restarts occurred as riders kept getting taken out before the first curve (Michelle Velzeboer x3, Courtney Sarault x1, Park Jiwon x2) Couldn’t contain my laughter after the second time
  6. Slafkovsky also scored the game winning shootout goal to give the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres!
  7. So many races going on in La Plagne this week that I got confused, sorry.
  8. Luge WC Lake Placid, United States Women’s Singles Gold- Madeline Egle (1:28.710) Silver- Julia Taubitz (1:28.898) Bronze- Summer Britcher (1:29.117) Full Results
  9. Big Air WC Edmonton, Canada Women Gold- Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (183.25) Silver- Mia Brookes (167.00) Bronze- Anna Gasser (159.25) Men Gold- Taiga Hasegawa (181.00) Silver- Su Yiming (177.25) Bronze- Red Gerard (176.00) Full Results
  10. I always knew Japan was good, but holy crap they’re turning into a winter-powerhouse. Only sports that they aren’t in contention are biathlon, cross country, short track speed skating, ice hockey, alpine skiing, skeleton, biathlon, and luge.
  11. 97.25 (switch backside 1260 tailgrab) for Zoi Sadowski-Synnott!
  12. Ruien Xiao wins bronze at the epee WC in Vancouver!
  13. Quite a few chances for Poland actually. Oskar Kwiatkowski in men’s parallel slalom, Aleksandra Krol in women’s parallel slalom, Dawid Kubacki/Kamil Stoch in men’s large hill/normal hill are your best bets. Andzelika Wojcik in women’s 500m (long track speed skating) and Poland’s women’s team pursuit also have a chance, although unlikely. Also, in terms of juniors Jan Habdas is one to watch in men’s normal hill (ski jumping) and your men’s ski jumping team. But Milan 2026 will probably be too soon for them.
  14. Speed Skating WC Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland Day 2 Women’s 1500m Gold- Miho Takagi (1:57.63) Silver- Marijke Groenewoud (1:57.70) Bronze- Joy Beune (1:58.21) Men’s 500m Gold- Tingyu Gao (34.70) Silver- Laurent Dubreuil (34.77) Bronze- Wataru Morishige (34.82) Men’s 1500m Gold- Pender Kongshaug (1:46.41) Silver- Jordan Stolz (1:46.48) Bronze- Zhongyan Ning (1:46.99) Women’s 500m Gold- Erin Jackson (37.80) Silver- Min-Sun Kim (37.96) Bronze- Femke Kok (38.13) Men’s Team Pursuit Gold- United States (3:44.85) Silver- Italy (3:45.39) Bronze- Norway (3:46.50) Women’s Team Pursuit Gold- Japan (3:00.35) Silver- Canada (3:03.24) Bronze- Poland (3:05.88) Full Results
  15. Good list, I’d add Markus Rehm (athletics- men’s T64 long jump), Morteza Mehrzadselakjani (men’s sitting volleyball), and Veronika Aigner (women’s visually impaired alpine skiing)
  16. Jessica Guo wins bronze at the foil WC in Novi Sad!
  17. United States and Canada haven’t yet qualified in women’s hockey.
  18. Bobsleigh WC La Plagne, France Two Man Gold- Michel Vogt/Sandro Michel (1:58.51) Silver- Johannes Lochner/Georg Fleischhauer (1:58.58) Bronze- Francesco Friedrich/Thorsten Margis (1:58.94) Full Results
  19. go 4-4 on sport climbing quotas here (unsurprisingly), as Mel Janse Van Rensburg qualifies for Paris in men’s combined!
  20. Dual Moguls WC Idre Fjäll, Sweden Men Gold- Mikael Kingsbury Silver- Rasmus Stegfeldt Bronze- Ikuma Horishima Women Gold- Jaelin Kauf Silver- Rino Yanagimoto Bronze- Jakara Anthony Full Results
  21. Halfpipe WC Secret Garden, China Women Gold- Eileen Gu (94.25) Silver- Hanna Faulhaber (82.25) Bronze- Amy Fraser (79.25) Men Gold- Alex Ferreira (91.00) Silver- Luke Harrold (89.25) Bronze- Hunter Hess (88.75) Full Results
  22. Pairs bronze for Deanna Stelato-Dudek/Maxime Deschamps, and ice dance bronze for Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier at the ISU Grand Prix Final!
  23. They follow that up with a dominant win over Samoa (33-7) to move to 2-0 after losing 24-0 to them earlier in the week. As a reminder, this team finished dead last at the HSBC Dubai Rugby Sevens Series (although they played better than their placement suggested)
