  1. First look at the ski jumping Olympic venue
  2. With the Olympics coming around haven't checked any results on World Athletics and only found out through the "Athletics Discussion Thread", but Sarah Mitton opened up her season a few days ago at the Knights of Columbus Games with a 20.22m effort in women's shot put!
  3. Welcome to Totallympics! @Bear Hollow
  4. I sent CBC a email asking if it’s possible, we’ll see what response I get. HBO Max is another one
  5. None of the trainings or qualifications in some sports like shooting are ever shown.
  6. Filip Gravenfors (freestyle skiing) Broke his collarbone during Sweden’s pre-Olympic training camp https://www.instagram.com/p/DUD6BfYgqQO/?igsh=MXNoMjBjaWlyazc1OA== All the best in your recovery Filip!
  7. Very nice analysis, a few things here. Bobsleigh: In Love's last 7 races, she hasn't finished better than 8th, unlikely she’ll medal. Also just a small correction, it's Kailie, you must've got her confused with someone else Short Track Speed Skating: I'd say there's a really good chance you win at least 2-3 medals. Stoddard has been on fire this season, she's won 8 medals in 12 events, Santos Griswold has a decent chance in each of the women's distances, mainly the 500m. Women's relay won medals at two of the WCs, and the mixed relay has a chance if other top nations (Korea, Netherlands, Canada, China) crash in the semifinals, don't think they match up raw power wise. Snowboarding: Choi, Shimizu, and possibly Kudo (more inconsistent) will push Kim if she is indeed at her best, but it's hard to bet against someone like her. Mastro is an outside chance in halfpipe, competition might be too much for her. Men's snowboard cross has no chance , and mixed team with Gaskill/Baumgartener or Vedder is probably an outside chance.
  8. For Marielle Thompson and Mikael Kingsbury @hckošice
  9. Mikael Kingsbury and Marielle Thompson have been announced as flagbearers! https://www.instagram.com/p/DUDvdy2AeHt/?igsh=MXBibzI3Yno2cWJ1NQ==
  10. Jokes aside, while I really hope for Kingsbury to win double gold, Homan to win gold, and Strate to win Canada's first individual ski jumping medal, most of all... my biggest wishes are for Eliot Grondin to win gold in snowboard cross and the men's hockey team to win gold, I'd probably be crying tears of happiness if that happened. It would mean that much to me.
  11. Final week of sports before a few days off for the Olympics! Australian Open, Scotties semifinal/final, Ski Cross WC Val di Fassa, Parallel GS WC Rogla, probably some alpine skiing depending on if I have time or not
  12. They might've done this last time around and I never noticed, but CBC Sports is streaming the non-Canadian sports matches too
  13. Right, I forgot about that. Unfortunate, one of Canada’s greatest athletes and ambassadors of sport and he won’t get a chance to be a flagbearer ever with this almost certainly being his final Olympics.
  14. Come on man, don’t keep being pessimistic Yeah that would be disappointing, however Italians have performed well enough the past few seasons that I don’t think it’ll happen. Think you’ll be more in the 23-25 medal rang Yep, I’m hoping so too, always nice to see athletes winning Olympic medals at home.
  15. Crosby would be a better choice for the closing ceremony probably, depending on how the team does
  16. It should've been McMorris anyways, he had the best run of the day and Canada still should've gone 1-2-3
  17. Dupont has been in exceptional form these past few events, she could contend with Hasselborg, Gim, and Rui for bronze (I think Tirinzoni/Homan are a level ahead, upsets are possible), although I do agree it's hit or miss
  18. IG post from Mahler on his lack of selection https://www.instagram.com/p/DT_O_EaCGWg/?igsh=MWRpeDFpMXdsZ3lxYw==
  19. Found this country music song recently, it's not my jam usually don't last past the first watch, but this is good Crazy that it's a song made for a movie.
