  1. I have a feeling some of the usual power houses decided not to give a damn about the champs this year
  2. What else is new. People are losing jobs over technology advance I wonder when the chair umpires will be deemed expendable? 2045?
  3. Bump Sunday for Indy 500 is over. Charlie Kimball and RC Enerson failed to qualify. Simona de Silvestro is in
  4. Andre Ribeiro (motor racing) - three time CART race winner and former Penske driver passed away from cancer aged 55. He was the first driver to win in Honda-powered IndyCar at Loudon in 1995.
  5. That was helluva boring. Ferrari should haven take a 5 place grid penalty instead LeClerc DNS in his home country. Ferrari screws up the pooch again. Bottas retired with a jammed wheel nut during his pitstop. I wonder if this is the season where all the little things suddenly start to happen to him?
  6. Ryan Crouser 23.01 in Tucson. Only Barnes and Timmermann have gone beyond 23 meters before.
  7. More likely UEFA Euros will lose prestige. Obviously FIFA is looking at money and money alone. More matches means more money for the big wigs. Euros could be rendered for B-teams calliber or U-23 like at the Olympics. This is far from being made official. Unlike athletics there are two governing bodies involved and UEFA will definitely see this idea as a major threat.
  8. Sandor Puhl - referee of 1994 World Cup final and 1997 UEFA Champions League final has passed away at age 65. He was probably the best European referee in the mid 90s but his international career was cut short when he failed to send off Denis Irwin in UCL match in late 1997 IIRC. Laszlo Vagner was nominated for 1998 World Cup as well.
  9. The old fool Biden lifts the US sanctions on Nord Stream 2. What a sack full of shit this is. NS2 is in "US best interest"? Fucking moron. Democrats are total hypocrites like always. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57180674
  10. Hmm.. I suppose Giants exceeded the expectations so far but Mets fans probably still fume about Lindor's play among other things
  11. Shohei Ohtani leads the HR column in mid-May. Mike Trout is out for 6-8 weeks so the Angels offense will be all about Ohtani more or less. They finally ditched Albert Pujols who landed with the Dodgers but their pitching staff is downright bad. Oakland A's were the last team to win the first game this season but they lead AL West right now.
  12. Huh? What's the irony? Reekie & Hodgkinson's results speak for themselves. Sharp has minimal chance to regain #1 UK status at 800m and I presume she knows it full well.
  13. Comedy genre could make laugh out of everybody and that was their obvious core. Now we live in an era when anyone gets offended by anything so comedy just can't walk the tightrope at all hence it's more or less dead. Political corectness has killed the genre for sure.
  14. Show you how new stuff doesn't hold any value at all. We've gone through another classic that has a reboot that doesn't actually need a reboot. I'd be amazed if the new Friends last beyond two seasons. That show belonged in the 90s. I wonder how much political corectness will they stuff in there in 2021? Phoebe working as a masseusse? Not funny anymore. Chandler's father being a drag queen? Not funny anymore.
  15. Yes, I know. But with Reekie & Hodgkinson around I'd say her comeback will not be anticipated at all. The fact she decided to have a baby in the Olympic year tells you she's done as a serious athlete IMO.
  16. It's safe to say Lynsey Sharp may not bother with any sort of comeback anymore
  17. Same thing in Poland - F1 and Bundesliga will be on NEG from 2022. They announced this two weeks ago already.
  18. Since Piatkowski (RB Salzburg) and Puchacz (Union Berlin) will be leaving Ekstraklasa in the summer window it's safe to say Slovakia has called up more players from Polish league than Poland
  19. More peak WTA drama - this time in Belgrade - Zhang Shuai wins 10 games in a row before blowing 4-0 40-0 lead in the third set vs Bogota GOAT Maria Camila Osorio Serrano
  20. I assume not many people can pronounce it anyway but the English version Lesser Poland sounds... ahem.. lesser? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_Poland
  21. What's with the Krakow-Małopolska shit? Who came up with a dumb idea to promote Polish regional names like that? Nobody outside of Poland will ever remember that anyway
  22. Paulo Sousa announced the squad. Biggest surprise is Grosicki only being on the reserves list but he only played three games at West Brom this season and I personally think he doesn't bring anything to NT anymore. Other notable absentee is Szymanski who is a regular starter at Dinamo Moscow but doesn't have a chance to play in midfield in NT and he sttruggled at wing when Sousa gave him a chance in March. 17yo Kacper Kozlowski is the youngest player in the squad. K.Piątek, Reca, Bielik and Goralski are all out through injuries.
  23. Barcelona trashed Chelsea 4-0 in that final. Guess English clubs can buy all the best players but talk about getting exposed here. Reminds me of that Swedish super team Tyreso that folded within months of losing in UCL final too
  24. Going back to WTA Rome, this is 10th time a WTA final has ended with 6-0 6-0 scoreline. Graf/Zvereva Roland Garros final is obviously the most well known but clay GOAT Chris Evert still leads the pack by numbers:
