  1. Not much luck so far as Finland leads by 15 pts in the third quarter.
  2. Tomljanovic doesn't seem so choke-prone anymore. She improved since she started dating Berrettini and seems to carry on even after the split. Then again Rodina who hasn't played anything in like two years served for 4-1 in the deciding set vs Ajla in R2 and bottled it
  3. Ajla Tomljanovic takes out Serena Williams in three sets in R3
  4. Dutch Grand Prix this weekend. I assume @heywooduwon't be attending though Meanwhile the Oscar Piastri saga is over and like expected Alpine are the clowns in all of this. This means Piastri will drive for McLaren next season and Alpine might have to buy Gasly out from the Red Bull farm.
  5. [hide] Knockout Round September 1st - September 4th, 2022 4 Nations, The Winners of the Semifinals will qualify for the Final. The Losers of the Semifinals will play the Third-Place Match. Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 September 3rd 2022, h. 14:00 United States 7 Czech Republic September 3rd 2022, h. 18:00 Canada 5 Switzerland [/hide]
  6. Vintage WTA collapse from Kaia Kanepi who led 6-2 5-1 vs Aryna Sabalenka and lost in three sets
  7. [hide] Knockout Round September 3rd - September 11th, 2022 16 Nations, The Winners of the Round of 16-Matches will qualify for the Quarterfinals. Round of 16 Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 September 3rd 2022, h. TBD Netherlands 3 0 Ukraine September 3rd 2022, h. TBD Slovenia 3 0 Germany September 4th 2022, h. TBD United States 3 0 Turkey September 4th 2022, h. TBD Poland 3 0 Tunisia September 5th 2022, h. TBD France 3 0 Japan September 5th 2022, h. TBD Italy 3 1 Cuba September 6th 2022, h. TBD Serbia 3 1 Argentina September 6th 2022, h. TBD Brazil 3 1 Iran [/hide]
  8. The Slovakian luck run out in R2, both Kuzmova and Schmiedlova are out but they were clear underdogs vs Rogers & Zhang Shuai. The in-form Liudmila Samsonova and Caroline Garcia are through to R3 (the former taking out last year's finalist Leylah Fernandez).
  9. Maria Sakkari is out in R2 after losing to Wang Xinyu in three sets. Sakkari is in a free fall since losing the Indian Wells final to Iga Świątek
  10. Akira Sasaki is back after 8 years of retirement and has won Argentine National Championships + South American Cup race in Chile https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=AL&competitorid=53684&raceid=114044 https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=AL&competitorid=53684&raceid=113863
  11. [hide] Knockout Round September 1st - September 4th, 2022 8 Nations, The Winners of the Quarterfinals will qualify for the Semifinals. Quarterfinals Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 September 1st 2022, h. TBD United States 13 Hungary September 1st 2022, h. TBD Canada 8 Sweden September 1st 2022, h. TBD Finland 4 Czech Republic September 1st 2022, h. TBD Switzerland 2 Japan [/hide]
  12. Alize Cornet dumps out defending champion Emma Raducanu 6-3 6-3 in R1. Raducanu's terrible form after that one-hit wonder last USO continues, if Harriet Dart beats Dalma Galfi in R2 then she won't even be British #1 player anymore Currently down to #79 in the rankings.
  13. Clare Burel who had to save MPs vs Misaki Doi in qualifying takes out Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in R1
  14. ...and the mega upset happened as Galan held on to win 6-0 6-1 3-6 7-5! I can only wonder what @Makedonas will say about this one. Better news for @hckošiceas Schmiedlova and Kuzmova won their R1 matches in straight sets (Kuzmova beating Sorribes Tormo is more impressive by far). Molcan lost to Monteiro.
  15. Stefanos Tsitsipas down 0-6 1-6 to Daniel Galan This will take some comeback from the favorite...
  16. The first upset in the women's draw. Qualifier Daria Snigur takes out #7 seed Simona Halep 6-2 0-6 6-4. On the opposite end was Beatriz Haddad Maia who got a double bagel 6-0 6-0 over Ana Konjuh.
  17. wins Women's U-20 World Cup beating defending champions 3-1 in the final. It's the exact reverse of the 2018 final where Japan won 3-1.
  18. Alonso vs Hamilton collision at Spa. Hamilon cut down on Alonso and is out of the race.
  19. Well, that 82 yard preseason punt might be the only one on Matt Araiza's NFL resume. He did admit to having sex with that 17 year old girl which classifies as statuory rape (funny how such allegedly liberal state like California has a very non-liberal age of consent at 18 years old).
  20. Bagnaia doing his trademark mid-season heroics but once again the first few rounds will cost him a shot at the title IMO. Same old story as in 2021. Meanwhile Ducati has picked Bastianini over Martin for the second works seat in 2023.
  21. Linda Fruhvirtova makes her first GS MD appearance and Fernanda Contreras Gomez has made it through qualifying for the third GS in a row!
  22. Fuck 10 year hockey contacts, Julio Rodriguez might sign a 13-, 16- or 18-year contract with Mariners Well, Mariners famously didn't have money to sign Alex Rodriguez or Randy Johnson long-term 20+ years ago so they maybe learned a lesson or two since then. https://www.mlb.com/mariners/news/julio-rodriguez-extension-with-mariners
  23. Sadly multiple hosts for global championships seems to be the new craze and it's not only related to sharing costs. The UEFA 2020 mess being hosted all across Europe (and Baku) was the final nail in the common sense coffin. It's not going to work. There is no aura of a championship event at all. Obviously Poland and Slovenia matches will have full audience but not so sure about the rest. Even TV makes no sense. It was like 5-6 am in Brazil & Cuba when their match was played?
  24. Yup, nobody is taking volleyball seriously it seems. 11 am start on a working day. Insane.
  25. Viktoria Kuzmova has qualified for the Main Draw @hckošice Same thing for probably one qualifier nobody wants to draw in R1 Linda Noskova.
