So Belgium/Belarus is the new Slovakia/Slovenia. -
His stamina probably went down because he's still a bit affected by his injury and the long break.

Okay. Indeed it looks like.

Athletics Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

There was: http://road-to-rio.com/ Unfortunately I don't think they create the list anymore because I can't access this or find London 2012. -
What do you mean? Yes it will. I'm now also worried about our chances in XD...

Yes, the pool of talents in Danish women's badminton is not big. I haven't watch all of the games yet. It was a crowded sports day for me yesterday. I have seen Victor's match against Kento. He played very well, but he did make some mistakes which will cost against the world's number 1. Though he played his best tournament in a long time, so I'm positive towards the upcoming WCH, if he can avoid any injuries of course. A match I'm looking forward to watch from yesterday's finals is the Men's Doubles. By what I have read, it was an impressive victory for Ahsan/Setiawan, especially because of Setiawan's injury. I can comment on this year's finals, as I have written, but All-England is always something special because of its long history. All-England is badminton's equivalent of Wimbledon in Tennis.

I haven't heard anything officially. Sara Thygesen is our best female doubles player, but she plays with Nohr. Sara also doesn't have the experience like Christinna, and Mathias probably needs someone with international experience, which will be difficult to find.

She says it's a combination of lack of motivation, and that she and Kamilla Rytter Juhl became parents on January 5th. - I need to be able to feel a spark inside my stomach when I go to training. It is difficult without it when I have been used to have it for many years and felt that I could always provide my absolute best. I have not been on top of my game lately, says Christinna Pedersen. - After Molly (her daughter) has appeared, things have of course changed, and Kamilla and I have talked much about this new situation. It wasn't what was supposed to stop my badminton career. - But everything put together makes me feel like a miss the last motivation to play. They will play together in the Danish badminton league, but they will not play international tournaments or be part of the national team. So no more World Tour, WCH or Olympics. Yes he is. Badminton Denmark is looking for a new partner for Mathias, so the plan is to find a new partner for Mathias and to qualify for Tokyo.

Christinna Pedersen has announced she will leave the national team and the world tour.

Athletics Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

The IAAF Council has approved the qualification system and entry standards for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION AND ENTRY STANDARDS Athletes will have more opportunities to achieve the Olympic entry standards under the new system, which extends the qualification window by two months for most events. This will start on 1 May 2019 (instead of 1 July 2019), to include more international competitions such as the IAAF Diamond League, and end on 29 June 2020. The qualification period for the marathon and 50km race walk will close at the end of May 2020 (instead of 29 June), to give the qualified athletes more time to prepare specifically for the Games. After extensive consultation with key stakeholders, the Council has decided to introduce a dual qualification system, combining both the entry standards and the new World Ranking System, to determine which athletes are eligible for Olympic selection in 2020. Under this new qualification process, an athlete can qualify for the 2020 Olympics in one of two ways: • Achieve the entry standard within the respective qualification period • Qualify by virtue of his/her IAAF World Ranking position in the selected event at the end of the respective qualification period. The process is designed to achieve about 50 percent of the target numbers for each event through Entry Standards and the remaining 50 percent through the IAAF World Ranking System. The IAAF consulted with the Competition, Athletes’ and Coaches’ Commissions prior to this decision and will continue working with the Athletes’ Commission, the Athletes Representatives (ARs) and the Member Federations (MFs) to ensure the qualification system is well understood. Workshops will be scheduled with athletes, ARs and MFs during this year. Source: IAAF https://www.iaaf.org/news/press-release/council-march-2019-olympic-qualification -

I like Eurosport's Danish commentator in Ski Jumping and Nordic combined. He has a bachelor in Math, so you always get a whole math lesson about ski jumping, which oddly enough is quite satisfying. Though this season he has had some blackouts during the cross-country skiing in nordic combined. "And here comes Kupczak from behind!" First, Kupczak overtaking someone in xc-skiing is not possible. Secondly, it was was Hirvonen who was coming from behind. On the positve side, he can actually pronounce Polish names and places correctly. I do miss having Andreas Küttel as co-commentator. He was it during the 2017 WCH, and it was nice to hear so many stories about Simon Ammann. His Danish was not that bad.

He studies a ph.d in sport science at a university in Denmark. His Polish wife is a doctor in Denmark so he moved here.

It seems that F1 will re-introduce points for fastest lap from the first race of the 2019 season. The fastest lap set by a driver who ends in top 10 will be awarded 1 point. The new extra point will probably not matter that much, but let's see.

It must the first time we see a song from a TISC participant/jury member represented in TISC? Congrats with your first single, @Werloc. By the way, what happened to those covers you promise you would make thorughout December on your YT-channel? -
Laura Dahlmeier has caught a cold, so she will not start in today's Mixed Relay. Denise Herrmann replaces her.

Biathlete, Simon Eder, has been interviewed about the ongoing doping scandal. He says that he was offered "something" some years ago, but refused it. He also says that he immediately reported this to the Austrian police and ÖSV and was invited as witness to testify in the case.
