  10. I've encountered an annoying formatting issue that @Sindo @OlympicIRL and I are working to rectify, but due to the short period of time remaining before the scheduled date of the opening ceremony and grand final, it is likely those will need to be pushed back one weekend. I'll provide a more official update tomorrow.

  24. 1. and 2. I passed on those events, as this is one of the very few disciplines I don't follow even during the Olympic Games - Speedskating, men's Team Pursuit...here I'm totally biased. sureley it wasn't the best ever performance by a team, on the other hand, it was maybe the best performance by an individual (Enrico Fabris) winning a team event (almost) all by himself so, my choice is very much a Home call, Italy 2006 - Speedskating, women's Team Pursuit...here I'm going with the true spirit of these polls...the most impressive single performance by a team in this event, so I think I have to choose Japan 2018, as their superiority was probably not to be equalled in quite a while - Short Track Speedskating, men's 5000m Relay...it's another Home call, maybe...but in this case I'm more than convinced that it was also the best single performance of a team in this event, despite Canada have put on such a rock solid tradition and won more gold medals than anyone else my choice is, once again, Italy (1994...waiting for the 2026 replay of those great memories )

  30. It's been interesting. One thing you could do is try to predict future powerhouses (or weaknesses). For example, I imagine India will be a bit more prominent in the medal table, especially if they get to host 2036 or 2040.

  33. I'm a bit disappointed by Pergher's time over the 500m, I expected her to be within 1 sec from the actual race winner, but she's at least 3-4/10 outside that meanwhile, even if she slooks like to become a pure 500m specialist, I'm really disappointed with her 1.20 over the 1000m...she can do way better than that good results instead for Bosa, waiting for Ghiotto to enlight our speedskating weekend p.s. 35. Yes they are! I've been to two World Games - 2017 in Wroclaw and 2022 in Birmingham - let me say that the Wroclaw games were better ran and organized than the edition held in the United States.

  43. This week Bruce Springsteen announced a new European tour for next year, just managed to get tickets for his show in Nijmegen in June Normally it's a bit of a hassle and a long wait, this time I got in the virtual line with only 1400 people or so ahead of me (out of many tens of thousands) and barely 5 minutes after the sale officially started, I had my tickets Gonna be the 5th time my dad and I go to see The Boss, already looking forward to it again as ever I'm still hoping he goes to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro one day so I can send my mother in law there, but that seems less likely since his tours are basically just Europe and the US..

  44. just another day at the office for Jeffrey Hoogland yesterday he improved the 500m world record with a flashy 24.564 seconds (record previously held by Sir Chris Hoy with 24.758 since 2007 in La Paz) then he missed out his 3 attempts to smash the flying 200m record (held by Nicholas Paul with 9.100 secs since 2019, also made in La Paz) 9.130, 9.201, 9.103 the 3 times clocked by the Dutch sprinter

  47. Within now and a few minutes, Jeffrey Hoogland is going to attack Francois Pervis' 1km world record in Aguascalientes. The goal is to break Pervis' 56.303 seconds. There's a live stream here, not sure it's available outside the Netherlands. https://www.ad.nl/wielrennen/live-bekijk-de-wereldrecordpoging-van-jeffrey-hoogland-vanaf-20-45-uur-exclusief-via-onze-site~acfaf934/ Personally I find it super cool to have a record attempt for this, besides the hour records we're sort of used to, but also it's a bit sad to see this being done in some 'atmosphereless' hall with 5 people present or so By the way, Pervis himself said he thinks Hoogland can break his record by 3 seconds, which would of course be insane. Then again, it's definitely not impossible. When Pervis said his 56.3 seconds, he was usually riding times of around 1 minute on sea level. Hoogland has been consistently going far under that, even going to low 58's...on sea level. Wouldn't be shocked to see a 54.x seconds.
