Didn't compete in an OG, but set the Soviet record in an event where the USSR regularly won medals.
Volodymyr (Vladimir) Inozemtsev, 25 May 1964 - 4 Feb 2020.
-
Olha Korsun (Athletics - TJ) 2 years, 12/07/2019-11/07/2021 (stripped of Universiade gold medal)
-
Vitaliy Butrym - Athletics (400m) 4 years to 19 May 2023 - EPO (!)
Olena Serdyuk - Athletics (long distances) 8 years (2nd violation) to 9 June 2027 - cocktail of steroids!

@ahjfcshfghb why have you entered Hejnova and Vondrova in their "wrong" events? (And Maslak in 200?)
Don't be so sure you'll go down, Ukraine have entered a pretty weak team too, especially on the men's side, and Italy do have weaknesses. We don't know about Sweden yet.

When did Maryna Novik move to Norway? I kind of remember her name from some old BLR results but haven’t heard of anything from her for ages!
-
Ukraine in athletics (mostly women's)
Finland in ice hockey and ski-jumping
Germany at football (not above England but above the other home nations and Ireland)

Well, can't blame the guy, he already broke it three times this year, so I may allow him a break There's more to come from this very ambitious athlete if he keeps on working as hard as he has been for the past couple of years.
He reminded me a bit of Tiidrek Nurme, who set the Estonian record (3:38.59) at the same distance by front-running his heat of the 2008 Olympics.

@Werloc shame Bertasius wasn't .04 quicker, he'd have set an NR in the EC final!

It's just a matter of waiting for Turkey or Azerbaijan to please help us get rid of Schippers.
Can Ukraine have her?
-
@Werloc how come Serksniene didn't run in your relay team? (Not that they'd have Q'ed or even q'ed anyway, but still...) is it because of the 200 later (where I'd be surprised if she made the final)?
-
@hckosiceis Lucia Vadlejch married to Jakub? if she is, he certainly needs to get to work on her javelin technique!

Finally on her way to really being the new Jessicarennis Hill?
do you run the names together like that as a non-native English speaker?

The officials should be DQed As appeared the bell rang for BOTH our athletes in the wrong time, 1 lap earlier than needed. When Serdyuk was crossing the finish line the bell didn't ring.
Mess.
Shmatenko you mean? Prokofyeva finished.

9200m mark:
Prokofyeva - 32:56.04
Serdyuk - 32:19.62
again... what the hell!
If she forgot her lap she should have been DSQed but not DNFed.
14 minutes ago, heywoodu said:If she forgot her lap and stopped one lap too early, why should she be DQ'ed when in fact she didn't finish, which is not breaking a rule?
Do you mean 9600? I thought Serdyuk was ahead of Prokofyeva all race long and the latter's finishing time (34:15.81) is consistent with your listed time being her split at 9600?
Even so, I don't know how she forgot she was a lap (or 2?) behind Bahta.
Agree she was more of a DNF than a DQ.

Dafuq is going on with women's 10000m results? Serdyuk finished 4th right after Bahta, it was on video. With 32:19.79. But they gave her DNF.
I think Serdyuk was lapped but for some reason thought she was on the same lap as Bahta so tried to outsprint her...she was certainly nowhere near the Swede for most of the race.

Are there only two entrants per country per event in the track and field?
-
Zemlyak has already failed a test in 2009 and Povh shared a coach (Kostya Rurak) with Ryemyen when the latter was banned in 2014. Rurak also served a ban as a runner in 1997.
was the uncertified lab in Ukraine or outside?

Congrats, easy gold tomorrow, probably could have medalled at U23 european championships. There are many events where the medal winners at the U20 european championships could have medalled at the U23 european championships or the U18 world championships, i think they should seperate those competitions more, so that its possible to compete at all of them or at least two of them.
She improved the NR to 55.96, but didn't even win! Giger (SUI) ran 55.90. What's with the Swiss improvement in track events in recent years?

It isn't possible to compete at both the U23 and either the U20 or U18. The U23 is ONLY for athletes who are U23 but are NOT U20 or U18 (or U16!) So only athletes born between 1995 and 1997 inclusive could have competed at this year's U23 EC.

Slovenian SENIOR record of 56.52 by Agata Zupin in the semi (!) of the U20 EC 400h.

Actually Hellmann had an unofficial 78.14!!!!! in Berlin before the games as she and Wyludda, only 19, tried out for the third spot in the OG team behind Reinsch and Gansky. Wyludda threw what would have been an unbreakable WJR close to 75 too!
