so france can have the host quota for men, if it only qualifies women?
No, the host quota is only awarded in one event if they fail to qualify someone though the ranking list.

France still has its host quota (assuming they don't qualify naturally).

The three Group G nations are on pace for Olympic qualification. This opens up the F/G qualifier greatly. Europe is going to have another tough time qualifying.

a country can qualify 2 girls individually?
Yes. Good opportunity for Italy.

After two rotations the top 3 is . The top 3 from the finals will qualify to the Olympics.

Did Boryana Kaleyn not compete? The live scoreboard isn't showing her result

With the Olympics still about 2 years ago, it's a bit difficult to pinpoint. Overall, I am hoping for around 20-25 medals.

It would be a spineless decision, but they do have a precedent...
Imo, rugby sevens is still facing growing pains which started immediately after the freshness of Rio expired, basically.
More so on the women's side. The depth is still pretty low and once you go through the top 12 or so teams the quality declines sharply. At least on the men's side we have depth teams. While I don't expect much from teams like they won't be completely embarrassed.

Surprised they didn't foresee the possibility that Australia, NZ and Fiji did. If so I doubt they would award PNG a continental spot.
Yeah, if anything this scenario is more likely than both Canada and USA finishing in the top 4. I imagine they will chance the rules to screw over PNG

From a strength point of view the best split would be 3 Oceania and 1 European team qualifying, but Argentina, South Africa and the United States all have a chance at qualifying where the next highest ranked nations from those continents will be keeping an eye on.

Do we already know which countries will be eligible for tripartite universality places?
Not yet, the IOC will likely publish the list some time next year.

Nations favorites ?
The lack of Belarus and Russia opens things up. For individual Bulgaria and Italy will be the favourites, one may even win two quotas. Maybe Israel, Slovenia or Ukraine
For group, probably Bulgaria and Italy and the third could go to Azerbaijan, China or Israel

So, downhill MTB is my new entry in my "ffs, why this is not a Olympic discipline since 20 years ago" list
Agreed, the IOC or sport federations don't need to create events, there are a bunch that are both interesting and competitive.

If that happens now at ECH, a nation winning gold and silver in a event, I assume quota will be reallocated to the bronce medal of course if bronce is won by another NOC.
Correct, this is similar to all other events where it will go to the next highest ranked eligible athlete provided they finish in the top 8. If there are none it will be reallocated to the Olympic rankings with continental quotas staying within the continent if possible.
I feel there will be a few quotas from the 2023 World Championships which will have to be reallocated to the Olympic rankings.

Maybe there's still hope for our shooting team.

Not sure if this was the change, but the universality quota banning athletes under the age of 30 from attending a third Olympics caught my eye. While I understand not wanting a single low ranking athlete dominate a swimming quota for multiple Olympics, but why lift the rule once the athlete turns 30? At that point the rule only affects a small handful of athletes in their mid to late 20s.
Regardless, it's a dumb rule to have.

Terrible news for since our WAG team is doomed to be weak until early 2024.
Is that due to an age restriction thing? The Pan Am Games is in late 2023 so the difference of training time isn't that great.

How high will England win by against Slovakia or even Croatia? Both were division 3 teams...
-
Hopefully at least one of fails to qualify or else the competition for F/G qualifier will be very low again. Maybe will pull it off this time.

Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024 Qualification Systems

One day a tripartite nation will put in an application and then UIPM will be stuck. Off the top of my head, I remember someone from competing. Also, while they won't be a tripartite nation in 2024, would be an option in 2028 should they send a small team again (and if modern pentathlon still exists).
