Plus, it’s fun to go through and engineer your own Olympic venues. This one took about 3/4 hours to build. If you guys like this one, I’ll post some pics of other venues/sports.

  11. Walkden is an ugly victory. It is directly cuddled and pushed outwards as soon as it comes up. This is judo and wrestling. It is not a taekwondo at all. There is no sports ethics at all.

  17. That was ugly, very ugly. what a shame. Walkden won the gold 11-20 !! yes the loser scored double points as the winner, 1 cheap punch point + 10 cautions while Zheng scored 20 clean points. I can say half of those penalties were nonsense. at some point it was like Sumo for Walkden. pushing Zheng out of the court with 2 hands, that's not legal but who cares. even in UK almost half the spectators were booing Walkden , that was one of the worst officiating in this sport I ever seen.

  20. It will count for both Group C and Overall rankings. However, Group C nations will have more potential points on the table, since this event technically counts as "Group C Championships". Individual Group C winner can get as many points as European champion later this year, so yeah, it's a big deal.

  27. My thoughts after watching the semifinals: The ones I'd like to lift the trophy: all the way!! This year I'm really behind the favorite, love the lyrics, the music and his song. I think the staging could have been better, but I think the other factors should count the most when choosing the winner. I'm so glad they have put a real singer with a decent song and epic back vocals, instead of a runway model. I love her vocals and the fact she sings in Serbian. I think at times she goes too loud, and the staging doesn't help her either, but I'd like to see her finish in a high place. I like how their voices seem to "match" and create a good vibe song, with some fantasy touches. He has not the best song, yet he works with it beyond my expectations, so it is my dark horse. Performances that I like to see to get a good placing: I wasn't behind this song at first, but his performance showed a balance between energy and good vocals. I don't think is a winning entry, but I'd love to see them go above any other of the Big 5. Love how the band get their act together, even if they doesn't have the best singer, they definitely own the stage. She didn't gave her best today, but still has enough talent and presence, and qualifying from a the hardest semi, gives her extra merit. I thought from the begining she was underrated; not a winning act, but she gave her best effort, unlike other performers, so the best of luck on Saturday. I usually don't like songs that serve to promote political agendas so blunt, but can't deny her delivery of the song is almost perfect and makes her an anthem. Underperform: I was expecting more from her, the song has so much potential, but her vocals were not good and the staging rather unimpresive. I understand opening the contest must be hard, but still, such an energetic song deserves a better delivery. Great music, great lyrics as it has been the case for the past three editions; however San Remo jury must find a pleasant voice who can shine on stage due to his/her singing abilities. Nice song, even if quite "pink", but her singing was subpar on the semifinal. I pray she does better on the final. One of my favorites for a top 5; liked the irony between their lyrics and the fact they were participating. But I guess this is one of those cases where sound engineers are the real heroes. What are they doing in the final: Belgium has taken the fault for their performers being without charm, but what about this? Most overrated song of this edition, without doubt. She mumblres all through a spineless, boring tune I'd use to slit my wrists in a bathtub Generic electro pop with a singer that often yells and goes off key; enough said. Enjoyed their stage act, but too much circus, with mediocre singing, but what can be expected from a half song? On one hand I like to see the "tiniest entry" in the final; but Serhat voice is really hoarse and he could barely dance along, the song was saved by the catchiness of the chorus and a brave decent from the backing singers. Deserved to be in the final: This was not Origo, but he still is a good singer. Too "boring" from "modern" audience, yet her voice and the acoustic guitar are some of the best I've listened in years. A good vocalist, an interesting staging, damaged by a subpar song. She was one the few that really seemed to enjoy being there, and went beyond my expectations but got stuck in the hardest semi. Biggest dissapointment A decent song, thrown away with a staging that screamed "Dracula" instead of "melancholia" and a singer that never found her voice, coupled with another excellent product of sound engineering.

It's very rare to see Lee Dae-hoon losing and this guy is such a nice person, there were at least couple of very dubious kyunggos against him and he lost it by 1 point at the end but he didn't protest even a bit. he is one of the best athletes ever in this sport and without doubt the best right now

  32. That's funny because nowadays it's kind of a joke here. there is a famous book and a famous TV series based on that book called "My Uncle Napoleon" and the main character there had Anglophobia who thinks that UK (or as we call them England even though I know that's wrong) is responsible for everything bad happens it was true at some point if someone read the Iran's history. nowadays it's kind of a joke. that people use it to taunt others who believe in consistory theories , "Yes, The English are behind it " even when a cat falls from the tree people still use this phrase

  34. Finally caught up with this thread lol Though it's not among our best efforts, as @Olympian1010 said earlier, we'll bounce back for the open (we do much better in the open contest anyways lol), but I want to congratulate @OlympicIRL for his win, by far my favorite song in this edition and it always makes me happy to see my 12 pointer win, even if my own entry fails (and now I need to know how many of my 12 pointers have gone on to win the contest because I believe that's an exclusive club right there lol) Also, my thanks to several of you who gave us points, especially to @Memo and @KingOfTheRhinos for the 12 points, because honestly, I was worried that goal wouldn't be reached (and it was reached 11/12 contests or something like that), and I'll also add @Function CR Lee @stefanbg @Finnator123 @vinipereira @titicow @Damian to the list of those that had our back. Also, I send congrats to @mrv86 for hosting this contest, though it wasn't easy, especially when you had internet problems, which is always the worst thing that can happen to the host jury, but you stuck it out in the end and made it all possible, and having hosted the last open contest, I could sympathize what you had to go through to make it work. Also, congrats to @heywoodu and @KingOfTheRhinos for your 2nd and 3rd places. Both of you made to my second listen, but Australia made it to my reserves and Netherlands, unfortunately, missed out on it Finally, my personal votes from the US east coast (since I saw while going through the pages that @Olympian1010 made a comment about being on the west coast) 12 -- Ireland 11 -- India 10 -- China 9 -- Bulgaria 8 -- Greece 7 -- Norway 6 -- Germany 5 -- Colombia 4 -- Chile 3 -- Romania 2 -- Spain 1 -- Great Britain R1 -- Mexico R2 -- Algeria R3 -- Australia R4 -- Lithuania Yeah, funny how my top 2 is also the combined top 2

  37. Yes, I had a lot of trouble to find all of the results from the previous Pan American championships. Even PAGU is completely lost and I'm not sure they even know when the first Pan Am championships was staged (according to my research, 1997). Consugi is also terrible and they only had the results from South American championships from 2011 onward, but at least they've always replied and tried to help. The problem is that the first South American championships was held in 1959, so there was a lot to cover and I had to buy a couple of rare and expensive books myself to find some results from previous events so I could upload them to Wikipedia. I know nothing about COPACI, but I seriously fear for cycling fans if COPACI is any worse than PAGU.

  38. His draw isn't "that bad" actually. Badr Achab is different that Jaouad Achab, very young , I saw him in YOG final. won't be a problem for Seif Eissa if he is half ready. if I had to make a prediction I think his only "tough match" will be in quarterfinal which is normal, you have to expect at least one tough match before the medal round. but yeah Abu Ghaush in this weight is surprising, if I'm not wrong his points still will be counted for his 68kg Olympic ranking. so that will be a smart move if he medals here but I doubt that. Rafalovich will be the favorite from that quarter. btw it seems Iran has actually two teams in this tournament. because that "refugee team" is almost a complete team of Iranians ! each day when they publish the draw I see some more new names competing under the code "WT" ! this time Kasra Mehdipour. it seems the number of Iranian refugees are bigger than people from Yemen or Syria or Iraq where there are "real wars", of course by lying
