There is also a chance that Germany doesn't select Reitz and instead selects someone that doesn't have the MQS in 10m air pistol.

A very slim one, because a.) Reitz is too good in Rapid Fire Pistol not to select him and b.) they wouldn't throw away a possible chance for a medal in the team competition like that. ;) But I get your Point.

I believe Argentina is qualified in mixed Rifle 10m, as the male guy who got the Quota in 3 positions has the MQS for both.

The reason why we don't add Argentina in Mixed Rifle team is that there is no obligation on Argentina NOC to select the same guy for their 50x3 quota. They are well within their rights to chose another shooter and he may not have MQS for 10m Air Rifle.

Indeed, however smaller nations always tend to send the same athletes that won the quotas. Argentina did that in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

Yes. For practical purposes, Argentina should consider that they have qualified a team. I was just telling him why Totallympics or any other website tracking quotas won't be listing Mixed team in Argentina's quotas. And this thing is applicable not just for mixed team but also for other events. For example, Manu Bhaker has won quota in 10m Air Pistol and has MQS in 25m as well. I don't expect quota lists to list that we have 2 quotas in 25m but I have to remember that apart from Rahi who won the quota, Manu would be starting as well.

I just read this post now.

Well, Argentina won the gold medal in mixed rifle af pan am games and the man that won it isn't the same shooter that won the quota in 3P. Actually, this shooter that won gold in mixed also won bronze in the individual men's 10m rifle, so I would say there is a decent chance he's selected instead of the other guy that won the quota in 3P.

Since we now know which nations are eligible to receive a tripartite invitations I decide to take a closer look.

Currently 18 eligible nations have at least one shooter that has reached the MQS, including Kuwait which has already qualified quotas. Given that there are 24 quotas, it is likely we will seem some of them reallocated, though as Bolivia showed in 2016 nations could be given multiple tripartite quotas.

One big difference relative to 2016 is that there is now a fixed quota for each event (2 per event) whereas 2016 the quotas could be spread however they pleased. This has a huge impact on the competition for the quotas. Overall the 10m events have the most competition with women's 10m air rifle having 11 eligible nations, including 3 nations (Andorra, Bhutan and Nepal) having their only MQS mark in this event meaning we can't even have all 18 nations entered. On the flip side both the men's 25m rapid fire pistol and men's skeet have two eligible nations (OMA/PAK and MLT/PAK respectively).

Oman has the most options with eligible athletes in all events except the men's skeet. They also have an athletes with a MQS that's in the top two in five events, one more than Malta, Pakistan and Kuwait (ignoring events they have already qualified in). Of course, the quota doesn't necessarily go to the best tripartite nation as they take into account universality and how quotas in other sports are given out. This is why Bhutan is likely to be given the shooting quota despite being the second weakest nation in the women's 10m air rifle.

I really hope :SMR gets both a men’s and women’s trap wildcard.

Or qualifies in women’s Trap, and gets the tripartite for men :yes

    • Oh god, the cross-country skiing is done by one of those typical English-language generic commentators again   Keeps calling the Icelandic lady Arna Albertsdottir 'the Australian Lauren Parker'.   Mind you, Parker won Paralympic gold in triathlon in Paris so should be somewhat recognizable or known to a professional commentator. Mind you again, when he started with that, which was when Albertsdottir was coming up to a split time, the graphics clearly showed Parker's time as currently fastest with Albertsdottir's time still counting (hence, it was her we were looking at).   Oh, and the lady he keeps calling Lauren Parker (from Australia) has 'ICELAND' written on her suit.
