They would have 10 without men's 800 free and women's 1500 free. Sure, but it's still not as lobsided as it was in Rio (with the Netherlands only being there because of the two open water golds, which one really shouldn't count too much - if at all - in this context) If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! OlympicsFan 783 Posted August 1, 2021 #602 Share Posted August 1, 2021 Perfect olympics for Brazil in swimming. All their medal contenders (Fratus) delivered and then they also won a medal by a complete nobody (Schaffer). I think they won more medals on the men's side than Japan and as many medals as Japan and China combined ... Vektor 3,195 Posted August 1, 2021 #603 Share Posted August 1, 2021 btw, without the new events this would be least amount of gold the won in swimming since 1988.

Vektor 3,195 Posted August 1, 2021 #609 Share Posted August 1, 2021 I guess I spoke too soon, now even with the new events this the worst Olympics for the in swimming since 1992. And it will be worse than Barcelona if they won't win the last event.
heywoodu 13,581 Posted August 1, 2021 #610 Share Posted August 1, 2021 Anyone else feel like so many of these medals are sort of forgettable, since mostly we're watching the same names fight for them the whole week (unlike in athletes, where you see totally different names in most events)? I mean, I've watched basically every final live and with focus but I had already forgotten McKeon actually took the 50 + 100 freestyle double Olympian1010 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
