dcro 10,210 Posted January 19, 2022 #121 Share Posted January 19, 2022 So Totallympics did this by contacting Ponya. Korea has accepted all reallocations so far (two in freestyle skiing), so I'm afraid this is written on the wind already... #banbestmen

Grassmarket 3,403 Posted January 20, 2022 #123 Share Posted January 20, 2022 On 12/24/2021 at 7:46 PM, heywoodu said: Brazilian snow sports federation CBDN posted their first mid-season ranking, which confirms two things: 1. The points and tables I've been posting are 100% correct, so that's good 2. As we suddenly realized a few weeks ago and tried to have 100% confirmed: athletes who DON'T have the B criteria (under 300 points) in both sprint and distance, are out of the fight if at least two athletes do have it (as is and will remain the case). This means Mika needs to get her sprint average under 300 points, otherwise her position in the ranking doesn't matter and she's out anyway. It also means that, as of now, the two female tickets are for Jaque and Bruna. Of course there's still races to go, both for Mika to get her sprint average under 300 and for everyone to improve their points. https://cbdn.org.br/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2021/12/ListaCBDN-OWG-CC-20211223.pdf Incidentally, I know that Jaque Muorao was thinking that perhaps she would be the only person to do the Beijing 2008/2022 double but there will be at least one other - Britain's bobsleigh brakewoman Montell Douglas was in the 2008 100m/4x100m. heywoodu

heywoodu 15,135 Posted January 21, 2022 #125 Share Posted January 21, 2022 It's now out in the open, so: Monday @brunamoura was selected and announced as part of the Brazilian team for Beijing. The same day she did a COVID test.....which came back positive. Long story short, now we're hoping hard for a test to be negative in time for her to still make it to the Olympics before the Brazilian authorities need to make an (understandable) decision to go for a replacement athlete. So, we wait and we keep hoping. There isn't really anything she realistically could have done differently to avoid it, so it's pure bad luck...hopefully there's some good luck coming soon. mrv86, Grassmarket, brunamoura and 6 others 1 8 . OK, better now than later. Still plenty time to get negative.
