For Germany (compared to expectations):

One medal less than expected (women's quadruple sculls had a safe silver and then they made a mistake and dropped to 4th or 5th)

 

The two by far biggest gold medal chances (men's single sculls and men's eight) are still to come.

It was awesome indeed, too bad that it was largely decided by such a mis-hit though  

 

Sort of like that German boat yesterday that threw away a medal by a mistake.

So far one gold in the rowing is not bad, although it could just as easily have been four, so that leaves a bit of a taste  Especially considering that no matter how many golds they win, that of course won't help those that just miss out.

Did someone in Gb curse the rowing gods? Five fourth places must be some sort of sad record for a games. Easy to see Paris and LA being worse through as I can see GB rowing getting a major shock when funding is reduced to well below what they thought was even the worse nightmare.
