yeah, that was already confirmed by World Rowing's president some time ago

as I already wrote, 150 years of history thrown away :hairpull::bones:

Of course not :d

Just 150 years of history being interrupted for a bit, until we go back to presumably 2000 meters in 2032 (and the championships and World Cups around it). I'd have preferred to keep the same distance of course, but Olympic records don't really mean anything anyway in a sport like rowing (or any sport, honestly), but it really shouldn't have that much of an influence in the end. It's still a full four years to go, everyone has easily enough time to prepare for the slightly shorter distance and adjust their race plans accordingly. For some it will be slightly negative, for others slightly positive, for a lot it will probably make no real difference in terms of their chances.

Is it the "official" logo? Or the official will remain the animated one? I need to know it for the logo of the section :d

I believe this one joins the other "A"s as part of the animated logo, but I'm not 100% certain.

The Handover ‘A’ emblem is the 40th release in LA28’s campaign that launched in 2020, capturing the stories of Angelenos, athletes, artists and activists. Designed as the first ever-changing mark in Olympic history, the LA28 emblem represents a collection of voices that reflects the host city’s vibrant culture of creativity, sport and self-expression.

I hear the 2020 games might be retroactively cancelled, all the medals taken away and all the record books / video recordings deleted due to the various corruption scandals.

The IOC have to prepare for the USA to not drop its investigation into WADA. It’s actually outrageous they have demanded that and threatened to cancel 2028.
