Let's take a look on how nations are performing relative to 2019. Of the 197 events completed, 175 were also held in 2019 (with some minor weight adjustments in boxing). Here's a table ranking how much better (or worse) a nation is performing. On the negative side, Cuba has dropped the most medals relative to 2019 by losing 25 medals. Argentina also suffered quite a bit going -18. The Dominican Republic rounds out the bottom three with -7. Maggie MacNeil has earned 1/6 of Canada's golds, while Maggie and Felix Dolci have gotten about 12% of Canada's medals thus far. Canada has a great chance to surpass its non-home Games gold medal record (47 in 1995), but I don't know if it'll beat its non-home total medal record (177 also in 1995). In fact, 12 athletes did better than the previous world record... I think the climb will become key on the last lap or two.
