Would be great if Germany could replace their 4th runner for the mixed relay final with Krafzik (if they don't get disqualified). The 4th german runner was atrocious.

I honestly don't see how this system is worse than the old one with screwing everyone who has the bad luck to be drawn in heat 1 (meaning all later heats can base their pace on that).

because it do not force you to run faster

The opening heat in every middle distance race was always slow, and the last heat would gobble up all the fastest loser spots. This new system is a huge, huge improvement

It forces you to run a championship kind of race, at a championships  

 

I really do think it is a lot better than the old system. Say heat 1 went in 8:15 in the old system, then in heat 2 they could 'simply' pace themselves to go for 8:10 or something, which is a rather unfair advantage one would get.
