Bhutan will get burned for this. They haven't had a man since 2008, and looks like they will not have one once again (unless they break their boycott over athletics/swimming events). :p

I know they aren't eligible because they already qualified a female athlete, but they should just be given a wildcard in men's archery.

Some highlights from the IOC EB meeting:

- Lausanne 2020 was the most watched and followed Winter YOG to date. Severe rise in popularity.

- IOC aim to have the Olympics be “carbon positive” by 2030 (meaning that they go further than being carbon neutral)

- All NOCs must work towards having at least 1 man and 1 woman at the Summer Olympics starting with Tokyo 2020

- Parade of Nations guidelines will be change to recommend each NOC have a pair of the flagbearers (one male, one female)

going crazy about political correctness. IOC should be with one male president and one female president, and 5 vice presidents from 5 continents with exact 5 different colors.

Considering it also was only the third ever Winter YOG, that's hardly noteworthy :d But a good thing, of course.

I think Tokyo's Olympic skateboarding competitions might be the best watched Olympic skateboarding competitions in history. You know, if it happens.

Recommend or force it upon nations? I really don't care if it's a man or a woman, but it seems a bit sad to let two people do this. It's a perfect honour to give to one athlete.

If it's got to be two, why not three? Or four? Or 16?

Not sure they will confirm it after including the numbers of viewers of the Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing, ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Bobsleigh, Luge, Skeleton and Speed Skating events

Because the objective is obviously to symbolize "gender parity". You can't have that with an uneven number like 3 (unless you happen to have an hermaphrodite or something). And I think it gets a bit difficult to hold a flag pole while walking with more than 3 people.

I can easily envision a flag pole with 6 extensions to hold it by

I’m inclined to agree with most of sentiment here (I know, shocking). I especially like @hckosice @heywoodu positions on this.

The 2020 Winter YOG was the best “yet”, and their were signs of real interest, and an event people can get behind. The lack of streaming is absolutely the biggest negative for the YOGs still. I am glad we’re moving towards more athletes, and no Mixed NOC events as well. I high hopes for the next few YOGs.

Every nation should have at least 1 man, 1 woman. Period. There’s not excuse not too.

This Parade of Nations business is getting silly. I think nations should make an effort to make sure men and women are equally represented, but forcing nations to artificially do it won’t change the attitudes towards women’s sport we’re looking to eliminate.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela

    • I'm getting mad!   I thought than here in Italy we had a chance to follow all the events properly, but that's not the case    Italian specialized websites only publish the results of the events where we get at least a medal, WS is late by days in their result section, all the disciplines have some kind of coverage, but some of them are basically amateur pictures, taking with a cell phone (inline slalom, for instance)   I'm very disappointed by the organization and also by the lack of interest in the Italian media...I mean, this is a global event, 15-day long and with many different disciplines....not only, it's one of our best chances to shine in the world of sport (we're basically guaranteed to dominate the medal table, grabbing medals left and right)    but world skate looks to be only interested in the Olympic skateboarding events, which also have a lot of coverage on the Olympic Channel website   personally, instead, i'm only interested in Inline Speedskating and men's Rink Hockey
    • naaa...that's not sailing, you just can't do it when the waves are high...   however, the weather prediction isn't that good for the next weekend, so you might get even more than what you're asking for
    • Not team ski cross     And that's coming from someone who absolutely loves watching the ski cross. Team ski cross just adds nothing at all. Whereas athletics relays make for an entirely different dynamic (a 4x100 is a very much different event than the 100m and results are entirely different than if you'd just add up everyone's 100m times), the team ski/snowboard cross is literally just two team members doing their runs back-to-back with no direct exchange or anything.   Just like the luge team event adds nothing at all
    • Never saw this until now, but yeah… no thanks  (and this is coming from a massive volleyball fan, even para so)   I wouldn’t mind ice climbing, but there’s a couple sports and events (like FreeRide, telemark skiing, and team ski cross) that I’d probably add before.
    • Oh absolutely, just trying to think of any somewhat valid reason not to score a run. My preference for sure would be to simply score all runs.
    • I would rather all runs be scored, honestly, regardless of the second point.
    • It's been confirmed that Slovenia  will send only their u19/23 cyclists. So no world tour cyclists at these Euros for us. As for women only Bujak will compete in the pro division.
    • If run one has a fall on the third hit and run two on the fourth hit, it's very much still in need of scoring both runs to see which one scores best. In terms of the overall, finishing 7th or 8th definitely makes a difference.   The only time a second run might not be scored is if run one was entirely clean (or at least didn't have a fall) and run two did have a fall.
    • Nobody really says that though, and definitely nobody wants that     Fact is, however, that more and more 'traditional' venues will leave the calendar because we as humanity as fucking up the climate.
