vinipereira 3,239 Posted February 24, 2019 #276 Share Posted February 24, 2019 Today is the Oscars so here I am with my predictions. This year I managed to watch 33 of the 37 feature films nominated, and all 15 shorts, for a total of 48/52 (or 92%). In the last 2 years, I had 17/24 correct guesses, but missed Best Picture in both. Today, I'm not so sure about the big award either. I'm going with Roma, but this is kind of a "artsy" movie that the Academy members could ignore and go with something more accessible/popular like Green Book or Black Panther (or even Bohemian Rhapsody, which can very well win the most Oscars tonight and take the title of worst winner ever). ["will win" is my prediction / "could win" is my alternate prediction / "should win" is my personal ranking from what I've watched / "shoud have been nominated" is a way to remember other notable work]. Spoiler Best Picture WILL WIN: Roma COULD WIN: Green Book or Black Panther SHOULD WIN: 1. Roma; 2. The Favourite; 3. BlacKkKlansman; 4. A Star is Born; 5. Black Panther; 6. Green Book; 7. Vice; 8. SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED: Ethan Hawke, First Reformed Actress in a Leading Role WILL WIN: Glenn Close, The Wife COULD WIN: Olivia Colman, The Favourite SHOULD WIN: 1. Vojthas 949 Posted February 24, 2019 #277 Share Posted February 24, 2019 Tonight's the Oscar night. As a I have, of course, hopes for at least one Award for "Cold War" (pure patriotism, I haven't seen it ). Among the other films I have my "Favorite" . I also keep my fingers crossed for the other "monarchist" film - "Mary, Queen of Scots". Other hopes are the other "Favorite" Oscars - especially for Rachel Weisz as supporting actress (sentiment from the "Mummy" movies and beloved "Runaway Jury" makes her my personal No. 2 among favorite actresses of Hollywood's history, just after Princess Grace).
