Tomorrow is the deadline for NOCs to confirm their quota places. Reallocations will be held right after that.

Looking at the women's 3m synchro diving, these should be the (likely) teams.

China - Shi Tingmao, Wu Minxia

Australia - Samantha Mills, Esther Qin

Canada - Jennifer Abel, Pamela Ware

Italy - Tania Cagnotto, Francesca Dallape

Malaysia - Cheong Hoong, Nur Dhabitah Sabri

Great Britain - Rebecca Gallantree, Alicia Blagg

Germany - Maria Kurjo, Nora Subschinski

Brazil - Juliana Veloso, Tammy Galera

Wu Minxia, Samantha Mills, Francesca Dallape, Nur Dhabitah Sabri, Alicia Blagg and Tammy Galera are the athletes that will most likely compete only in synchro event. Meaning that there should be 28 starters in individual springboard competition. But, Nur Dhabitah Sabri is entered for individual and synchro platform competition so I don't think she should count as the extra athlete. :mumble:If true then we'll have 29 athletes in individual.

These are potential reallocations (23 individuals already qualified).

24th Nora Subschinski (GER)

25th Abigail Johnston (USA)

26th Diana Pineda (COL)
27th? Minami Itahashi (JPN) (will likely not use, as per Japanese selection rules; plus Itahashi is already qualified for platform event, so I'm again not sure if that means anything in case she gets selected to compete in springboard)

27th/28th Diana Chaplieva (RUS)

28th/29th Maha Eissa (EGY)

29th/30th? Elizabeth Cui (NZL) (New Zealand will likely refuse)
29th/30th/31st Marcela Marić (CRO)

30th/31st/32nd Habiba Ashraf (EGY)

There is also a chance that Netherlands will not accept Inge Jansen's quota... It's going to be so close for us. But I'm afraid that we will miss out by a whisker, as we always do in these situations.

Actually you made it... I don't know why your Committee has not publiched anything yet, but she shall be in Rio.

Now besides these divers about which I mentioned in my previous post also Germany will send the same divers in springboard individual and synchronized (Stephan Feck, Patrick Hausding) and as well Sascha Klein in both platform events. I think that now it will be enough?

Sadly I just finished making my calculations... Men's 3m springboard is the only event in which there's an overquota (35) considering divers directly qualified for the individual event and those only competing in synchro. Even I don't think Austrian Blaha might qualify...

If FINA will confirm this it will be very sad news for us, as everyone already announcend his as Olympian after World Cup, even himself. Only lost in "winning" match against Russia in women's handball at OQT was more painful :(

I've gone trhough the web compiling the names of athletes already selected/named and those places already obtained and here's the list of how the final entry list might look like.  I've already taken out those places already rejected by the Netherlands and Japan; athletes in bold are those who count for the maximum 34 per gender in each discipline (springboard or platform); those in italics have not been oficially confirmed or selected by their NOCS.

Regarding South Korean Haram WOO he obtained individual places in both springboard and platform; I deduce that in orden to maintain the same number of divers in each one, FINA will count him in platform, even though it seems he will enter in both events.

CRO Marcela MARIC

We shall accept that quota if offered. I haven't found any recent article about that yet, but back in February our federation said that Marić will be waiting for an invitation.

WOW, we AGAIN miss a historic qualification by one position as South Africa suddenly has two divers. They accepted both continental quota and reallocated quota, even though their selection criteria clearly says that they will not do so. This is a huge fuck you to the face of all South African athletes whose continental quotas were rejected (in archery, boxing, canoeing, rugby, field hockey, synchro swimming, mountain bike etc etc). Even New Zealand accepted an athlete who clearly doesn't have a top-16/top-8 potential.

Well, I had enough of this. Goodbye.

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
