Who tested positive and is, or might be, out of the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022?

:CZE ski jumper Radek Rýdl was tested positive and will surely not compete on normal hill. He has got the 5th spot right now. ..... Meanwhile :CZE ice hockey team has some troubles .... Currently we have 9 players in Beijing and the goalie on the ice is their goalie curator 😅😅. Other 3 nominated goalies have had some troubles with covid tests as being positive/negative/not clear result ..... They should have flown on Tuesday, now, we will be very happy if at least one goalie can fly on Wednesday ....

:POL Natalia Czerwonka, Magdalena Czyszczoń, Marek Kania - speed skating (they are already in China)

In addition :POL Karolina Bosiek & Damian Żurek tested positive before flying to China so they are still in Poland.

This is getting ridiculous

Are we that surprised though?  There were a lot of positives before Tokyo as well, but it wasn't as big of a story.  We knew this was going to be a story

I barely heard any other story in the first days :p

It did go down quickly at some point, yes. Hopefully that'll be the case here, but the thing is this variant is way, way, way easier to spread. Which doesn't necessarily make it dangerous from a health perspective, but makes it a disaster from a sports perspective when we're still all in "positive = out" mode.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!
