Men's Handball IHF World Championship 2023

I'd like to repeat that from an Olympic qualifier point of view, not having an 9-12 ranking matches was a dumb move. The third place team in Group IV has a huge advantage. With teams like Bahrain, Belgium and the United States they are able to run-up the goal differential and finish 9th and be in an excellent position to qualify to the final Olympic qualification event. Of course we could have a third place team in a different group end with a 4W-1L record.

Could someone post a link to qualification system for Paris? How does this qualification for OQT works exactly?

Here's the link

Currently the format has the top six unqualified nations at the World Championships qualifying to one of three tournaments. Since Oceania won't finish in the top 12, the two best performing continents at the World Championships (likely Europe and Africa) will qualify two teams from their respective continental qualifier while the other two continents will only qualify one team.

Our group is getting very spicy. Thanks to Brazil we still have a chance even if we lose against Sweden today, which is expected. We obviously have to beat :BRA and :CPV to stay alive, the rest is up to the other teams. 6 points might be enough for us (or for any team in our group) to reach a OQT spot.

I think top2 of the group will be :SWE and :ISL in the end as it was expected. The :BRA v :HUN match will decide the 3rd spot in the group.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
