History for Liechtenstein.   A microstate qualifying in an event like this (with fully home-grown athletes) is rocket science, but apparently possible.

Yes, the  routine was sooo good and creative, sad they didn't qualify, the deserved 90+ points in that free routine.

Can’t wait for FINA to award Ireland an invite in this discipline too and then rescind it. Unlike diving and swimming, we have no participants, but it’s FINA and anything is possible

For those who know about this: why does it seem like at the Olympics there'll be some sort of qualifying consisting of a free and technical routine, whereas the final/deciding score seems to be a combination of a separate free routine but the qualification's technical routine? :p

I see duet's do three routines in total, one technical and two free, but I'm not really clear on the format and system of how those routines are used to judge the event - I mean, if there's a qualification and a final and duet's have two different routines, surely they'd do both routines in both qualifying and final? What am I missing, apart from any knowledge about this sport :d

Technical routine from the qualifying also counts for the final. Only the free routine gets 'repeated'.
