Expected decision on the one hand, but nonetheless a ridiculous and embarassing one for many reasons.

If Walsh/Michaud plan to continue skating together, I hope they will seriously consider switching citizenship and go somewhere they are respected and appreciated.

Brown is more established, but leaving Malinin off the team after that performance is certainly questionable. They represent two very different styles, Malinin is more of spinning top, while Brown is more technically proficient/maturely choreographed skater. In my opinion, Brown is more representative of the past generation of figure skating, while Malinin is more representative of the present/future generation of figure skating.

Brown is a fan favorite, but he's so overscored, and he has a low point ceiling. He shouldn't be on the Olympic team. It's simply a case of USFS giving the fans what they want.

    • Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
    • That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
    • Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.
    • Some sports have qualification systems   3x3 basketball (wheelchair) Para-cycling Powerlifting Weightlifting
    • In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
    • Whose decision was this, Team Canada's or the Organising committes?
