Plavci Matej Duša a Tamara Potocká pocestujú do Paríža Slovenská výprava pre Hry XXXIII. olympiády v Paríži sa rozšíri o dvoch plavcov. Slovensko získalo univerzálne miestenky do plaveckých súťaží pre jedného muža a jednu ženu. V Paríži sa predstavia na základe rozhodnutia Slovenskej plaveckej federácie Matej Duša a Tamara Potocká. Svetové plávanie stanovilo pre kvalifikáciu na olympijské hry veľmi tvrdé limity, ktoré sa nepodarilo splniť ani jednému slovenskému plavcovi. Cieľom medzinárodnej federácie je mať pod piatimi kruhmi čo najviac krajín, Slovensko tak získalo miestenku pre jedného muža a jednu ženu. „Na základe najvyššej bodovej hodnoty výkonov boli na olympijské hry nominovaní Matej Duša a Tamara Potocká,“ povedala generálna sekretárka Slovenskej plaveckej federácie Ivana Lange. Pred začiatkom minulotýždňových majstrovstiev Európy v Belehrade bola podľa FINA bodov zo slovenských žien na tom najlepšie Andrea Podmaníková. Výbornými výkonmi v srbskej metropole, ktoré ozdobila dvoma slovenskými, troma osobnými maximami a navyše aj 4. miestom na neolympijskej trati 50 metrov motýlik a 5. priečkou na olympijskej krátkej polohovke, sa však pred účastníčku olympijských hier v Tokiu 2020 dostala Potocká. „S výkonmi v Belehrade som maximálne spokojná, boli najlepšie v kariére. Nebude ľahké udržať formu a načasovať všetko tak, aby vyvrcholila na olympijských hrách. S trénerom však urobíme maximum, aby vydržala,“ povedala po návrate z Belehradu 21-ročná plavkyňa J&T Sport Teamu a VŠC Dukla Banská Bystrica. Matej Duša je momentálne najrýchlejší Slovák v bazéne. Plavec VŠC Dukla skončil na ME v Belehrade na 16. mieste na 50 m v. sp. za 22,33 s. „Teraz si trocha oddýchnem, potrénujem a doladím formu na olympijské hry.
