  1. The Totallympics Games Charter has been adopted! We are one step closer to making this idea a reality! I will provide an update on the next step of the process in the next few hours. Until the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games figures out where to post all official information, announcements, and documents; a copy of the Totallympics Games Charter will be a available via PDF. You can send me a message if you need a copy
  2. Yes, I was going to open up discussion about the program tomorrow. I was going to tell the technical officials that.
  3. Ah sorry, it’s should read “3. National Representation.” It seems like I lost a few numbers in copy and paste
  4. That’s why the following language was originally included in Rule 4.1, “To be on the program an event must use an application, software, program, or activity that is reasonably available to most users.” Rules for the individuals event will be proposed by the technical official (some in the case of the song competition, most likely OlympicIRL) and approved (rubber stamped in most cases probably) by the organizing committee. The for the rules will then be published for participants to see.
  5. Swimming and Golf have both pulled out of the 2022 European Championships. I expected the European Championships model to lash much longer than this. I’d never thought I’d reach the day where the European Games had a higher chance of success than the European Championships
  6. I was scrolling through Twitter today when I came across some information. WBSC pretty much informally announced most of teams qualified for Softball at the games. The tournament will feature more teams than the Olympics, and probably be of higher standard (more competitive). Here’s the full release: https://www.wbsc.org/news/the-world-games-2022-birmingham-new-name-same-games Qualified Nations: The 2020 European Championships were scheduled to be the last qualifier, with the winner qualifying, but that will probably change. Every nation currently ranked in the Top 8 except for Puerto Rico have qualified. Italy and the Netherlands are currently ranked 9th and 10th, and would the favorites for the European quota.
  7. Yes, we’ll do our best with scheduling. Scheduling will reflect the needs of the host broadcaster, the needs of the participants, and the needs of the technical officials. I
  8. I could add that if you think it’s necessary. I don’t see anyone swooping in and stealing our rights, especially since Totallympics Media is literally the organizing committee at this point
  9. @bmo @ahjfcshfghb @mrv86 @heywoodu @dcro @OlympicIRL @Giovanni Gianni Cattaneo @Vektor @Gianlu33 @Vojthas @Ashton @Agger @Fly_like_a_don @Speedy make sure to read over the above post. I want to make sure people are happy with that. I’m really happy to see so many people interested in this idea, and I think we may see some more get interested as we move further along. I’m really looking forward to these games, and I can’t wait to start planning them out.
  10. Okay, so I have completed a full draft of the Totallympics Games Charter. I would like everyone to read over it, and give it either their approval or disapproval. I also welcome any recommended amendments to the rules. I’ll leave this open until Sunday. Organization The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will be responsible for the planning, running, and promotion of the Totallympics Games. The organizing committee will act as the main authority of the Totallympics Games. Their decisions on all rules, participation, national representation, and event program disputes between participants or officials are final. Totallympics members have the right to ask for a majority vote on rule disputes or actions taken by the organization committee of the Totallympics Games that go against the Totallympics Games Charter. The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games shall be formed from members of Totallympics. Members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games must be active users in good standing with the community. Members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will not be allowed official entries into events. They may compete in events as guest entries. Their results will not be counted as official. The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will be assisted in the operation of individual events by the technical officials. Technical officials will assist the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games with the operation of a single event, but they may act as the technical official for more than one event. They will act as a representative for the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games for their assigned event. They will help draft the rules for the event they are assigned. They will act as the authority for all disputes for the event they are assigned. Technical officials decisions can be overturned by the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games if deemed unfair, cruel, or not in the spirit of the games. Technical officials are allowed to compete in the events they oversee, provided they do not have an unfair advantage over the other participants. Hosting The games shall not be hosted by one country, instead the games will be hosted by Totallympics through the shared contributions of its members. Participation Participants must be registered members (hereby known as “users”) of Totallympics. A user must be an active member of the community in order to participate. An active member of the community is defined as a member who has participated in at least one discussion, or has participated in Totallympics sanctioned activities such as the Totallympics International Song Contest, or a Prediction Contest, within the past year. A user may be allowed special dispensation to participate in Totallympics Games if the community deems them eligible even if they do not fulfill the active user criteria; subject to the approval of the organizing committee. Participating users shall be respectful of all participants and officials. Participating users must be respectful when posting and discussing with other members on any of the Totallympics Games Thread. Users must meet all of the necessary eligibility requirements. If foul play is detected with respect to 7 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), or (f) at any stage before, during or after the competition, the organising committee reserves the right to place the participation or result of that nation under review. These rules are not designed to exclude, only to ensure the Totallympics Games retain a distinct character, built upon a unique community atmosphere created by users of the forum. National Representation Users may represent one nation, and are not allowed to change affiliation under any circumstances after entering the games. A user may represent the nation of their birth, the nation they currently reside, the nation they are a citizen of, or the nation listed on their Totallympics profile. Violation of rules 3.a or 3.b will result in the disqualification of the user, and a voiding of their results. The user may continue to participate in the events and festivities of the games, but will no longer be considered an official entry. Event Program To be on the program an event must use an application, software, program, or activity that is reasonably available to most users. To be on the program an event must have at least 5 participants or more. In the event of a late withdrawal, an event may continue with 4 participants provided that all of the participants make the greatest possible effort to complete the event. Events must be conducted with the highest degree of organization possible. Failure of an event to meet criteria (a), (b), or (c) will lead to eviction from the program of the Totallympics Games. Amendments to the Totallympics Games Charter Amendments may be made to the Totallympics Games Charter. Amendments will be proposed by either the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games, or participants of the Totallympics Games. For an amendment to be approved, it must be passed by a simple majority vote of eligible voters. Eligible voters are defined as members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games, users who have participated in the Totallympics Games, users who are registered to compete in the Totallympics Games but have yet to compete, and moderators of Totallympics. Amendments may be changed from their original text, or discarded if a simple majority of eligible voters approve such action in a vote. Rules originally in the Totallympics Games Charter may also be subjected to the above actions.
  11. Found a little something for @hckosice
  12. If no one has an issue with these rules, I’ll add them to the first post.

  14. We’re only 4 days into discussing this, and I already have a massive headache.
  15. Well it would depend what the schedule of the other events are. I’m assuming we want everyone around for that.
  16. Okay, so now to discuss the organization of the games. I’ve read what people have posted, and I like what I see. Personally, I would like to be responsible for the scheduling, signups, results, and overall organizing of the games. I have experience with planning these type of online events, and I actually enjoy doing that stuff. @Vojthas could help me with this since he’d already be helping with the broadcast, and didn’t have much interest in competing. We would then be assisted by a team of technical officials. Technical officials would be responsible for the running of the individual event. They would be very knowledgeable/familiar with the application/program being used, or activity being done. Before we move further, we need to figure organization. We need to adopt this proposal, or come up with a different one.
  17. Results of Interest/Feasibility Poll Do you like the idea of a Totallympics Summer Games? A) YES (11) B) NO Would you participate in the Totallympics Summer Games if they were held? A) YES (9) B) NO (1) C) Unsure (1) Based of the results of the Interest/Feasibility Poll, I’d say we can conclude that there is significant interest in having such an event.
  18. I follow enough multi-sports games to see this as a normality
  19. Are those a “big” deal in Indonesia (meaning people care about them or watch them)?
  20. I’m okay with 50% of the IOC budget being about the Olympic Games, but really those need to be somewhat self-fundable to have a long future. I also think much more should go to athlete programs, sports science, and education; and less should go to IFs and NOCs.
  21. Good thing I love meticulous planning I think the organization structure we should go for is to divide the organization into departments. So I can handle the info side of things (scheduling, signups, results keeping, etc.), while Vojthas and I can handle the broadcast, then someone can be responsible for visual look (logo, maybe graphics, etc.), and then we could users familiar with the various games be the technical officials responsible for running those sports. At least that’s what I’m going to suggest tomorrow.
  22. I actually thought that MBS would liberalize (loosen the tight restrictions of) Saudi Arabia a little bit. Of course everyone hoped that before he offed that journalist. I don’t have a lot of trust in the Saudis. I do like the Qataris though. They have liberalized their society (in terms of their neighbors), they’ve proven they can host large events, and they generally have well organized events. The spectator thing doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers other people though.
  23. Conversely, I think Dehli 2010 would have dogged their bid the entire time. The Philippines would have had the same issue with the 2019 SEA Games. I kind of wish Turkmenistan had submitted a bid honestly. Life in the country sucks, and the government doesn’t deserve to host events like the Asian Games, but the 2017 AIMAG was good for all the right reasons. Taiwan is potentially another good candidate. I just don’t see China ever letting that happen in the near feature.
  24. Seriously. I don’t actually care who ends up doing what (and that will be apart of the discussion this weekend), but I do have some experience organizing online events like this. Plus, I’d like to incorporate things like streaming, which means I have to vet apps to see if that’s possible.
  25. Here’s the source material for this:
