  1. Still possible to watch? If so, where? I need my fix.
  2. Purely virtual contests are not in danger, TISC is like sim racing in motorsports right now: it's hot
  3. They're mightily late with that At 'work' we've been talking about the Kung Flu and Chinese Sneeze since at least a month and a half ago And yes, if something like this were to ever originate in the Netherlands, please don't refrain from calling it the Tulip Typhoid or Marijuana Malaria or something.
  4. Yep, they only didn't during WW1. The course was altered during WW2, when they couldn't really use the part along the coast anymore.
  5. Neither do we, which is why only people with pretty strong symptoms are being tested here now (for example if I'd test positive, people living in the same home would already not be tested). Most of the 'early' countries (South Korea, Singapore, Italy) bought nearly all of the available test kits and now there's just slowly a little bit for the rest.
  6. That's a very short list to compared what I already had, with still quite a ton of winter sports to go
  7. Since sports climbing is one of the two sports in which I'm still in my well-known 100% fear of spoilers I can't really check the official websites, so I'm asking it here: did the 2020 World Cup even start, you know, before the whole virus thing? If not, I think I've got the Inzai lead World Cup of last season and the OQT in Toulouse (?) to watch and then I'm pretty much updated?
  8. This sounds like the general attitude half the Netherlands had towards Eurovision until the Netherlands won
  9. That's pretty awesome with or without a virus outbreak, since now it's not on the Sunday of my half marathon anymore (and even with that being postponed, the chance is rather small for it to be in that exact weekend) So I'll either have a half marathon to run and Le Mans to watch in different weekends, have only a half marathon or only Le Mans at all this year or have none of them - and a tiny, tiny, tiny chance for them being on the same day after all. I'm happy
  10. I'm more sad that more than 100 years in a row with the Ronde van Vlaanderen are now gone
  11. The Minister of Health just collapsed during a pretty fierce debate (while being yelled at by Geert Wilders) He was back on his feet pretty quickly, but understandably the debate has been suspended for a while now.
  12. TAISC 2020 live draw has been postponed until at least 21 March. https://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/2292-totallympics-annual-international-song-contest-2020/&do=findComment&comment=282837
  13. Basic but useful stuff, if I got a euro for every time I've seen a certain Brazilian Totallympian work up a good sweat with that, I'd be filthy rich now
  14. Even though it's sadly factually incorrect nowadays, I love the ski ballet mention
  15. Because that would be absolutely terrible. Having no show for a year is way better than some weird thing with showing pre-recorded performances (or live performances) without anyone present.
  16. In so far as those events hadn't already cancelled themselves
  17. First three cases in Kyrgyzstan, meaning COVID-19 - after 200k or so confirmed cases worldwide in 160+ countries - has now made it's way to where the Black Death started. https://tass.com/world/1131599
  18. Leader of the Dutch health authorities just briefed the politicians, and among other things presented this graph of the number of cases: Red: No interventions, whatsoever (obviously not an option for any country) Green: 'Maximum control', meaning strong precautions, the already way too often used 'social distancing', etc Blue: Lockdown like in China, where there is a serious risk of the same thing happening, just later He specifically mentioned Wuhan, which is still in a sort of lockdown situation and where it could be a matter of time for the virus to come back up once disruptive precautions have been lifted.
  19. Apparently I've been living in a COVID-19 world for years then
  20. What's with UAE or Serbia participating in the Francophone Games?
  21. Numbers in Brazil have gone up way too fast to think it's only coming from outside by now.
  22. Countries closing their airports and land borders...as someone who's sometimes been playing Plague Inc every now and then for the past few years, it's just bizarre to see it happening in real life now.
  23. Wait, no, don't accelerate any curve! That just makes the hospitals be absolutely overloaded, even way more.
  24. Exactly! That's one of the biggest issues with a too tight lockdown, and only time will tell which countries did it 'right' and which didn't.
