  1. 1. Thiam 6891 (-122) 2. Vetter 6820 (+184) 3. Oosterwegel 6510 (+202) 4. Vidts 6508 (+268) 5. Annie Kunz 6473 (-230) 6. Williams 6483 (-200) With two events to go. Potentially tight battles for both gold/silver and bronze/nothing and especially the latter I did NOT expect to be between these ladies
  2. Meanwhile Emma Coburn is having an excellent heptathlon under the name of Annie Kunz.
  3. To be fair, that horrible exchange Visser - Schippers cost a LOT of time
  4. 6,47m for Vetter. If Thiam doesn't improve in her last attemt, she is under major pressure from Vetter on javelin..
  5. Schäfer stuck at 5.78m, that is some major disappointment there even though she has been sick.
  6. Oh wow, Netherlands reaches the final on time
  7. Great, Schippers starting WAY too early. That's it for any remote chance for the 4x100 women.
  8. Schäfer still only at 5.73m after two attempts, she badly needs to improve.
  9. 6.42 for Vetter! Pressure on the main competition.
  10. Thiam also starts with an X.
  11. Vetter starts with an X, that's the number one mistake in multi-event long jump...
  12. About javelin, that might be an issue for Thiam as well by the way, she's been having some elbow issues for a while. Hopefully she can avoid any issues there.
  13. Yeah that's the main worry, sadly. If he was in top shape, he'd be able to gain 450+ on those three events alone if Warner doesn't pull out big stuff, but with his back...nah.
  14. If Mayer's back isn't terrible, he can very realistically make up 150+ on pole vault alone, 200 even if things go a little in his favour and Warner doesn't go to PB level. In javelin there's space to make up 150 points as well for Mayer. Warner is still leading in the forecast and is of course the favourite, but the 'virtual gap' (assuming no weird stuff, good or bad) is more like 100 points than 400
  15. That. Fairly sure she could continue, but being on course for roughly 10th-12th after day one while not being in top shape is just not worth risking something serious (again). It'd likely have been different if she was going for a top-6 or something.
  16. Warner loses a little, but Mayer did the same, so nothing changes
  17. Nadine Broersen is the next DNF in the multi-events.
  18. Mayer needed to go faster to make up points, unless Warner is only marginally faster (doubtful).
  19. What's with this 'disgusting this or that' meme of the past few days?
  20. Weertman was pretty clear: the shape was good, the race plan was a mistake for which there was no plan B.
  21. What an incredible race from Wellbrock, I'd take off my hat if I was wearing one
  22. New attack for Wellbrock
  23. Would be familiar for him to lead until the last 100m though..
  24. Weertman is still a danger though, according to 2008 champion Maarten van der Weijden on Dutch TV he is for sure trying very hard! Somehow I have a feeling he's not the only one though
  25. And he joins them in no-time!
