  1. Goal difference (in my opinion) is especially a bad criteria when there are 1 or 2 clearly much weaker teams in the group. I mean, there are teams which can lose 15-0 or 20-0, only depending on the day or something.
  2. Swimming: 1-2 Archery: 1 Athletics: 1-2 BMX: 1 Road cycling: 2 Track cycling: 1 Equestrian: 2-3 Field hockey: 2 Gymastics: 1 Judo: 1-2 Rowing: 1 Sailing: 1-2 Volleyball (including beach): 1 Without geting too deep into it, this is pretty much what I'm guessing per sport for the Netherlands. So after some time, it's still more or less what I thought earlier in this thread
  3. Are you looking forward to the Hell of the North as much as I do?
  4. CRIT is for athletes who reached the qualifying standard in distances in which there are not more than the maximum number of athletes qualified. Crit* is for athletes who reached the qualifying standard, but in distances in which more than the maximum have done so (in practice this only means the men's 200m freestyle with 3 athletes who reached the standard)
  5. Germany - Hungary in water polo always reminds me of Adolf Hitler coming to watch Germany crush Hungary, only to witness the exact opposite
  6. But NED won against ESP, so in that case, it's not so weird to be above them
  7. Thanks for the information and, sadly, I guess you're right about them not having much of a chance anyway..damn Qatar.
  8. IHF still lists Esteki in the team, but that's old then I guess:
  9. At least our chance is bigger than in a situation in which we'd now face Hungary or something
  10. It isn't my fault then
  11. Is it me, or are threads that you already read marked as unread again after a while? This is kind of annoying me and it's only like this since a couple of days..
  12. What happened? Every top player refused to play and now it's something like a B-team or a junior team?
  13. I'm 99% sure Belgium will just use times luckily, no hassles with trials and having to peak another time and so on. These Belgians are listed as officially qualified on their NOC's website: Apart from that, their selection criteria since this year are the exact same as the international standards.
  14. This would make for an interesting story, but unfortunately it seems it's impossible to find any more news about them except for their names..
  15. This writer calls the same thing canoe slalom cross, boater cross, boarder cross and border cross in one article How am I supposed to call it then?
  16. That is so dumb
  17. Is this the very last chance for Canadians to qualify?
  18. By the way, the Dutch federation seems to be pretty sure that winning against RSA tomorrow would give us 2nd place in the group. Nobody knows how these rules will work exactly
  19. The referees gave Italy another victory against us....
  20. Well, we beat Spain, so Spain isn't so hard
  21. 7:52 something for the Dutch women's 4x200m moments ago, meaning they have qualified for Rio Edit: Oops, it's of course not 100% sure yet.
  22. I know we'll be 3rd and should have a considerably easier match Friday than today Not saying it will be easy obviously, but yeah, something is absolutely possible
  23. Why would they both play to lose?
  24. This whole thing is just breaking my brains I have made a list of all IBU Qualifying Points (of the now finished season) for all female athletes from countries that were not in the World Cup Nations Cup top-20. Nations 21 and 22 (Japan and Lithuania) will also get tickets, but the top-20 seems to be pretty stable and the 21st and 22nd countries might easily change next season, which is why I did it like that. The results, taking in account the average of the best 3 results of every athlete (or the proper adjustments in the case of only 1 or 2 results in the entire season): Green = Athletes from Japan or Lithuania, who would in the last season have qualified through the Nations Cup and therefore wouldn't matter in this list. Red = Athletes who already have at least 2 athletes of the same country above them - countries can only qualify 2 quota places through the IBU Qualifying Points List Therefore, in the system where there is absolutely 0 reallocation, LAT and KOR would receive 1 quota, EST and CHN would each receive 2 and that's it, meaning the line is at 91,60 points (World Cup-level). However, in a system where there is reallocation and for example the next three countries in the Nations Cup would also get 1 or 2 tickets (EST, CHN and KOR), suddenly the quota places in this list would be won by Bendika, Lightfoot, Szöcs, Karisik, Padial and....Muizniece, who has only 191 points...a HUGE difference! This is why the Brazilian federation will try to find out as soon as possible whether or not there will be reallocation in the case of unused quotas, because it would be pretty weird in my opinion to not reallocate unused quotas.
  25. Oh no, Bolt also isn't necessarily my way I'd be fine with De Grasse or Collins in his 120th Olympics. Apart from that I'm usually not a big fan of sprinters anyway, they're way too "arrogant" and with this whole attitude of "look at me, I'm awesome". No thanks
