  1. He got within 1kg of his 94kg total WR and you expected 'much more'?
  2. Too bad, but a nice try
  3. Come on Tian, go for 236kg All out!
  4. Daaamn that was a hard one for Pliesnoi
  5. I am starting to lose track of what the whole point of this discussion is anyway. I just want to see ice track cycling.
  6. Dünyetrekordu for Moradi!
  7. What happened with that 2nd attempt of Moradi? Edit: right arm, I see
  8. Actually in 6 out of his 9 previous competitions he had at least 2 good lifts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faris_Ibrahim
  9. If Moradi loses that belly, he competes with Om Yun-chol.
  10. Ah right, Nitto ATP Finals instead of ATP Nitto Finals I had never heard of 'Nitto' so didn't know it was a sponsor I wonder if anyone ever actually mentions Nitto when talking about it, other than the official website.
  11. What are the Nitto Finals? Sort of like WTA's Elite Trophy that's for the sub-elite?
  12. But alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, ski jumping etc are basically never done indoors, with a rare exception here and there, making them as good as completely winter sports. Volleyball, handball, basketball, swimming etc are mostly done indoors in competition form. Obviously not winter sports, but definitely not completely summer sports neither (since a majority of competitions doesn't need any summer to exist whatsoever, whereas a huge majority of winter sports competitions is cancelled if there's no winter).
  13. Wow, Faris Ibrahim opening with an eeeeasy 171kg, one kg more than his now old PB
  14. Probably, but I want to know if Tian is a 'nice' guy I prefer cheering for nice people instead of for the flag next to their name, which means much less (case in point: Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers, who is/was world class but comes across as such a huge negative personality there's no way I want to cheer for her)
  15. Wow, Onica jumping up with 170kg like it's a pack of sugar instead of 1kg under his PB.
  16. I was not being serious It's easy for me: everything that's done on snow and/or ice is a winter sport, all the rest are season-neutral sports, some of which are mostly played in summer, some mostly in winter.
  17. So basically you're saying we should move ice hockey to the summer?
  18. Yeah I remember there was a boycott and a big fight within Iranian weightlifting, but I thought Moradi was on the same side as Salimi and Rostami (?) who I believe you once told are kinda arrogant pieces of trash, hence my question Well Moradi actually being a nice guy doesn't make this easier Alright, hoping for an awesome fight then
  19. Sort of the opposite of what one would expect in eastern Asia
  20. Turkmen Sport http://tv.online.tm/ch004.html
  21. Good idea.
  22. Who should I be cheering for, Tian Tao or Moradi? Moradi has clear penalty points for being a convicted doper and another penalty point for being unfairly treated (in a good way for him) by the IWF president, so the decision will have to be made based on their personality. @MHSN Is Moradi a decent guy worth cheering for? @Function CR Lee Same question about Tian Tao
  23. It has now been confirmed by F1, after the Hanoi city officials accidentally spilled the news too early. One small problem with the GP of Vietnam though: it looks like they ran out of budget and had no money to buy some inspiration anymore, so they came up with this monstrosity straight from F1 hell
  24. Hard to call something a summer sport when it's mostly played indoors. More like a season-neutral sport, which should be very fitting in today's day and age.
  25. I remember this In fact, thanks to you mentioning that back in those days I wrote about it on a Dutch sports website https://frontpage.fok.nl/nieuws/738373/1/1/50/voorkeursbehandeling-voor-doperende-topgewichtheffer.html
