  1. I don't know if you're just naive or what? but trust me...it's time for you to grow up and stop believing in fairy tales for childern... there's not a single athlete in the whole world who's not obsessed with everything he/she eat and or drink...they all know exactly what they take, legal or not... anything else is just an excuse for cowards who can't take their own responsibility...
  2. that's a no brainer...
  3. 2019 Women's Championship Tour, Final Ranking 1. Carissa Moore, 59,940 pts 2. Caroline Marks, 55,545 pts 3. Lakey Peterson, 55,125 pts Full Ranking https://www.worldsurfleague.com/athletes/tour/wct?year=2019
  4. Stage #10 (Final), lululemon Maui Pro (Honolua Bay, Maui, Hawai'i) Gold: Stephanie Gilmore Silver: Tyler Wright Bronze: Carissa Moore & Tatiana Weston-Webb Full Ranking: https://www.worldsurfleague.com/events/2019/wct/2926/lululemon-maui-pro/results?resultsType=prizes
  5. interesting hockey night on the European ice rinks... the most surprising result came from EHC Biel/Bienne, taking home the scalp of non-the-less than the reigning European Champions let's see if they can confirm themselves in the second leg match... and also quite surprising the margin with which the reigning vice-European Champions, Red Bull Munich, lost in Stockholm...it's not gonna be an easy task for them trying to comeback from 1-5 down...
  6. Knockout Stage Quarterfinals , First Leg Tuesday 03.12.2019 - Results 18:00 Djurgården Stockholm (SWE) - Red Bull Munich (GER) 5-1 18:00 Mountfield HK (CZE) - EV Zug (SUI) 1-1 18:00 Frölunda Indians (SWE) - EHC Biel/Bienne (SUI) 2-3 20:15 Lausanne HC (SUI) - Luleå Hockey (SWE) 1-2
  7. if you don't know how a cricket match is structured, it's actually quite difficult to understand... but let's try with the example of this match I've posted the score... basically, a cricket match is divided in 2 main phases (called "innings"), each one has a team playing on defence (the team "bowling", where there's one player -the "bowler"/the "pitcher" of baseball- throwing the ball to the batsmen and all the other players placed on the field trying to catch the balls hit by those batsmen), trying to avoid the other team, playing on offense, to score points ("runs")... in today's case, Italy started on defense and allowed Kenya to score 210 runs before eliminating all of their batsmen (an inning ends when all batsmen are out or when the number of scheduled balls have been completed), then, when Italy went on offense, they had to score at least 211 runs to win the match...and they did it before the end of the scheduled balls and before all of their batsmen were eliminated... so the score is written like this: Italy 211/6 because they scored 211 runs having only 6 eliminated batsmen (10 outs are required to end the inning) beat Kenia 210 (because they scored 210 runs with all of their batsmen out)... when the team playing offense first wins, instead, the final score reports the name of the winning team by X wickets, where X is 10 (the outs needed to complete an inning) minus the number of outs actually suffered by the winning team in their offensive inning... so, following today's example, if Italy had played their offensive inning first (and assuming they won with the same score), the score would have been just "Italy win by 4 wickets" because they would have had still 4 eliminations to take advantage of when their offensive inning ended and Kenia would have had all of their batsmen out before reaching the target score set by Italy... I know, it's not that easy at first sight...
  8. Italy won 211/6 to 210 against in the first match of the first round of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge, the initial step of the qualification pathway towards the India 2023 World Cup... Italy started on defense and were able to contain Kenya's bats to a reasonable score, eliminating all of their batsmen in the last over of the 1st inning... then, debutant Nikolai Leonard Smith (Irish born, but with Italian mother, therefore eligible for our team) put on a show in the 2nd inning, becoming the first Italian player to score a 100 (102 not out, to be precise) in the first ever match under our Flag and leading the team to easily reach the target and win the match against all odds... this is also the first time ever that Italy defeat a team that in the past has played at least once the "true" world cup ( Kenya reached the semifinals in 2003)...
  9. Rome will host the 2022 Acquatics European Championships the competition will be on stage from August, 11th through August, 21st 2022... it remains to be seen if the Event would eventually be integrated into the multi-sport European Championships already awarded to Munich for what concerns Athletics, Cycling, Golf, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon... http://www2.len.eu/?p=16006
  10. @Cobi's interpretation was correct...only those who made the final could qualify, so we have only 6 women and 5 men's quota awarded after the World Champs... all the remaining quota supposed to be awarded in Tokyo 2019 worlds, instead will be reallocated to the next qualifying competitions... @Cmon Mary no quota for the USA, as they didn't make the top 8...
  11. directly from FIG Gymnastics... https://www.gymnastics.sport/asset.php?id=fidb_9057
  12. WTF!!! they want 15 Euros for watching the streaming of these races... f*ck them and all of their greediness!
  13. oh, yes! so, quick update...both marathons finally will have less starters than BMX freestyle competitions... p.s. by the way, when I wrote about Kenian, Ethiopian (and I should add the new powerhouse, Uganda) cheaters, most of them are those implicated with the shady doctors from the Mediterranean Sea... so, they were already somehow mentioned (even if not explicitly)...
  14. because of its particular nature (it's still a naturally refrigerated track, the last one on the main Bobsleigh/Skeleton/Luge circuit), St.Moritz is only active 2 months/year... they couldn't use that track for the aim of an international luge school/developing program in any case, even if they really wanted to...
  15. it's mainly because FIL has an agreement with the Igls officials to act as "international luge school" and home of their own "development program" for small/non-luge Countries (like the Aigle velodrome in Switzerland in track cycling)... of course, Igls has been chosen because a) they agreed on that and b) because it's an "easy" track...surely they couldn't use tracks like Lake Placid, Park City or Sigulda to play that role (unless you want to read about severe injuries almost once every day)... p.s. a short track to start a few more very young guys to the art of artificial luge is a great investment, not a waste of funds (especially if Natural Track Luge becomes an Olympic sport and the Austrian Artificial Luge team loses an enormous source of recruiting, as NTL is nowadays)... it's more the cost of mantaining that track...which is the main reason the Cesana track was dismantled and the reason why Cortina didn't make any refurbishing for years until they were forced to close everything down...nobody wanted to pay for those (very high) maintainance and "updating" costs, once the building was put in place... hopefully, now they've reached an agreement on this question that should keep the new Cortina track working for at least 25 years after the end of the 2026 Olympics (p.s. knowing what Italian politicians say and do, I don't trust them until we get to 2051 and see the track still used for major competitions in that year )...
  16. WADA will save us... let's start to take all the Russians and the NOP related guys away from the list... then let's get rid of those Kenian and Ethiopian cheaters... and here we are...both marathons will have less starters than decathlon...
  17. that's a shame! and a real mess! but I'm sure Iran will never allow him to start for another Country at the Olympics (and if there isn't the Iran's permission, he must wait 3 full years to be eligible for the Olympics under a new Flag)... unless he's invited to the Olympics with the Refugees Team (who don't follow the normal rules about citizenship), he won't be able to start in Tokyo next year...at least not under a National Flag different from Iran's...
  18. well, despite that, Loch has done well on Lake Placid's track more than once... but today he made a capital mistake in the first run and wasn't perfect even in the second run, so he did climb some positions, but not as many as he already did in the past... however, yes...LP and Sigulda are the 2 worst tracks for them...because start times are normally not so important (there are quite a few tricky sections that are definitely more important than the starting phase) and also because those are the 2 tracks where they can't train at all during the year... if only it was possible to find a non-German FIL president who cuts the number of races and training weeks in Germany...
  19. you could see the climbing time running on the graphics while watching the live pictures (and you can still see it if you watch the replay of the event on Youtube, obviously)... those times are not registered anywhere on the competition rankings (even if thay are the tie-breaking criteria between all the climbers who reached the same hold, in this case the 4 girls who ended with 31+)...
  20. Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament, Final Ranking Gold: Futaba Ito, 28 pts Silver: Julia Chanourdie, 30 pts Bronze: Mia Krampl, 49 pts (Olympic Quota) 4. Lucka Rakovec, 54 pts 5. Ai Mori, 64 pts 6. Iuliia Kaplina, 64 pts 7. Kyra Condie, 72 pts 8. Laura Rogora, 100 pts
  21. Women's Final, Lead Result 1. Mia Krampl 2. Julia Chanourdie 3. Lucka Rakovec 4. Ai Mori 5. Laura Rogora 6. Kyra Condie 7. Futaba Ito 8. Iuliia Kaplina
  22. and Ito completes her climb with a score of only 24+, which means that Mia Krampl wins the Lead section and with an epic comeback earns the 2nd Slovenian Olympic spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games... however, Ito wins the OQT... sincerely, I can feel the pain in Rakovec's heart...
  23. and this climb by Chanourdie has completely turned things around in the Slovenian battle for the Olympic spot!!! now she's between Krampl (who's leading the Lead section with 32 holds) and Rakovec (3rd with 31+) by virtue of climbing time of all the girls stuck at 31+...Chanourdie, in fact, did it in 3.03 mins, meanwhile Rakovec in 4.16... with only Futaba Ito still left to go, the only hope for Rakovec is the Japanese to overtake Krampl... drama, big drama in Toulouse! tbh, it's unfair that someone who doesn't have any interest in a competition ends up deciding the future of 2 different athletes...it should be a direct match-up, not a strange combination of other people's scores...
  24. and good comeback up to bronze for D-Fisch... no Germans in the top 8...
