  1. Elisa is baaaackkk! finally, an Italian girl capable of beating Deriglazova (who definitely mentally owns Volpi) when it really matters... meanwhile Santarelli wasted a big chance to win his first major individual Gold Medal...but frankly, Freilich was better from the beginning to the end of the decisive assault... the first 2 days of these champs have been great for us, but I hope we can get the best out of the team events, which are way more important in terms of the Olympic Qualification Ranking...
  2. for what I saw yesterday, yes... obviously a full German team would be a lot better than those 2 (and probably also of Italy, which isn't such a great team as many Italian journalists wrote), but yesterday it was more the inconsistence of Denmark that made the final score, rather than a good game by the Germans...
  3. 4 more medals for Italy, today... which would be great (and it really is great)... but still, there's also a very bad note also in a day like this... Errigo in fact was just inexcusable and unwatchable against Ivanova...no pride, no "garra", totally not focused on the right tactics... it's a shame that such a talented girl (by far the most talented in the world) is wasting all of her chances to become one of the great of her sport because of her awful mental attitude...
  4. well, they are 4 very modest teams, IMHO... not that those from group A were great, but still all of them are better than the 4 teams from group B... now I'm really curious to see FRA and ENG, even if they aren't even close to their real potential...they miss way too many of their best players (good for Italy, though...maybe we can even win the tournament, if we're lucky to keep Spain out of the semis)...

  11. Foconi just destroyed Garozzo (and actually he won this title quite easily...the only real scare came in the round of #16 against the old fox Le Pechoux, when he started 2-6 and also got a light injury...luckily it proved only a scare, as I wrote)...
  12. spanking, whipping, hot waxing...all the S/M repertoire, I guess...
  13. I don't know why every time I watch Gregorio and Vecchi's assaults, I feel the unstoppable desire to throw my remote control into my tv screen... I'm firmly convinced that those 2 girls need really hard corporal punishment for all the chances they wasted in the past and they are still wasting day after day...

  15. OK, however, as it's important for the World Ranking and the OQR, I still post the result of the Bronze Medal match, too... then, I will count 2 Bronze medals also in the team events when I post the final medal table of the tournament alone...
  16. good start for Italy, with 2 guys in the semis (despite the early exit by Cassarà)... the women's Sabre instead has just start the direct elimination tableau... semis and finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. CET...
  17. Men's Individual Foil Final Results Gold: Alessio Foconi Silver: Daniele Garozzo Bronze: Enzo Lefort & Alexey Cheremisinov Semifinals: Garozzo b. Lefort 15-8 Foconi b. Cheremisinov 15-11 Gold Medal Match: Foconi b. Garozzo 15-4 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/competition/4571-2018/results/
  18. I'm not sure it works that way anymore... in all the official documents on the FIE website (and in the live scoring by LiveResult, for what it could count) the teams are ranked 3rd and 4th in each event according to the Bronze Medal match result (and that assault is also named officially "Bronze Medal match"), the double Bronze medal is not recorded anymore...
  19. Cassarà already out in the round of #32... but still, 4 Italians and a half in the round of last #16... (1 however is fencing for Turkey and "the half" for the Netherlands...and 2 of the "true Italians" have to face each other so early )... and 2 Dutch guys in the same round of #16...

  24. by the way, for those who want to watch all the Finals... here's the Full Lenght Broadcast from yesterday...
  25. and here we go with absolute craziness (10 years young contenders! ) and biased (understatement, if there's one) judges... God save us from this thing (I don't even know how to name it)... IOC greediness must have gone to the point of no return, if they want to take advantage of such young kids...
