  1. 3 matches (and the remaining 3 of the same group should be in Baku, if I remember well the pairings of the playing sites)...
  2. yes, I added a "1" in the month digit when I read her date of birth...
  3. 1) because I read 18/11/2005 instead of 18/1/2005... 2) too early to know what kind of swimmers she's going to become...we can only wait and see... p.s. more in general, at that age you're still in time to develop your skills...nobody can be considered hopeless when he/she's so young...obviously, if you work only as a sprinter for all of your best years, then you are hopeless when you try to do anything else...but with proper training at the right time, you can always change your perspective...
  4. if ITA, RUS and FRA qualify as a team (and they all have very good chances), I don't see any problem for Ebert to qualify among the individualists... but I think that GER has really good chances to qualify as a team also in the women's Foil (actually, I think it will be easier in women's Foil than in the men's Sabre because of the poor competition)...
  5. yes, Spain win the group if they win by 3-goal margin against POL (the exact result doesn't matter)*... Italy win the group if they beat Belgium and ESP win by 1 or 2 goal margin against POL Poland win the group if they tie or win the game vs ESP... *if ITA don't beat BEL, ESP only need to win, the score is not important anymore (by the way,ITA are winning 1-0 vs BEL at halftime)...
  6. she's not 14 yet, her birthday is later in the year... and I know this is not an Olympic event...however, yesterday she swam 1.08.7 in the 100m Breastroke... I'm not even expecting her to be a medal contender already next year in the Olympic distance, but just being already this year among the top specialists in the sprint distance is not an ordinary performance (and as I wrote before, it's very rare for an Italian athlete...Pellegrini was the last sub-18 global medal winner for Italy in swimming in 2004, just to make a comparison)...
  7. the winner of group A will play the qualified runner-up team, unless it comes from the same Gr. A (in that case, they will play against the winners of Group C)... the other semifinal will be a consequence of that pairing... therefore Germany could play either the runner-up of group A or the winners of group C (depending on which group qualifies 2 teams), the 1st Gr.A vs 1st Gr.B is the only combination excluded...
  8. Settecolli Meet in Rome all Results from Day 1 and 2 here: http://fin2019.microplustiming.com/NU_2019_06_21-23_Roma_web.php?s=TG9hZENhbGVuZGFyaW8oJzAnKTs=&cat=ASM&page=005&spec=007&bat=001&td=CGR1&hg=&descIT=TWVuIC0gODAwIG0gU3RpbGUgTGliZXJvIC0gU2VyaWU=&descEN=TWVuIC0gODAwbSBGcmVlc3R5bGU=&descFR=TWVuIC0gODAwIG0gTmFnZSBMaWJyZQ==&curCatSel_M_F= too many excellent results to be reported here... but I just like to spend a few words about Benedetta Pilato, 13 years young and winner of the women's 50m Breastroke (30.28), who in the morning heats set a new Italian record and swam the 3rd fastest time of the year in 30.13... this kind of performance are so rare for Italian athletes when they're still so young...
  9. no, it's just "Sambo" (without "wrestling") also in the UWW official documents...
  10. Nations Cup Final Standings 1st, Italy, 392 Pts 2nd, Russia, 370 Pts 3rd, France, 362 Pts 4th, Germany, 270 Pts 5th, Hungary, 238 Pts 6th, Ukraine, 214 Pts 7th, Poland, 164 Pts 8th, Spain, 140 Pts 9th, Romania, 116 Pts 10th, Great Britain, 102 Pts Full Ranking http://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/competition/4582-2018/nationscup/
  11. Final Medal Table RUS, 4 / 3 / 2 FRA, 2 / 3 / 3 ITA, 2 / 2 / 6 GER, 1 / 1 / 2 POL, 1 / 0 / 1 ISR, 1 / 0 / 0 UKR, 1 / 0 / 0 HUN, 0 / 2 / 2 DEN, 0 / 1 / 0 CZE, 0 / 0 / 1 GEO, 0 / 0 / 1
  12. so, Poland win the last Gold of the Championships and make it 7 Nations winning at least 1 gold (11 winning at least 1 medal, no matter the colour)... I'm not sure, but I don't remember so many successful Countries in the previous editions... on the other hand, Italy won the most medals (10), but only 2 gold and, more than anything, we only collected placings from 3rd to 5th in the team events, which is awful and in a couple of cases also dangerously scary for what concerns the Olympic qualification... and the world champs are just around the corner (the only good thing is that also last year we didn't win many medals at the Europeans, but we did definitely a lot better at the worlds)...
  13. and when it happens, someone should spend the rest of his/her days in jail (if not in a "gulag")...
  14. 4 women and 4 men's classes in Sambo will start their medal session at 5 p.m. local (4 p.m. CET)... same time for the Judo final session (with 2 men and 3 women's classes up for grabs)...
  15. and also in the men's sabre we couldn't make the gold medal match... 6 weapons (or, better, 6 team events) and not a single gold medal match for Italy...what a shame! they should all come back to Italy by being kicked in their asses from Dusseldorf to Rome!
  16. and then she lost it like a baby after only 4 seconds into the overtime...
  17. OMG!!!!! what a comeback by Clerici!!! she was down by 7 hits with less than a minute to play and she did tie the match!
  18. and we're going to lose against Russia once again... when the going gets tough, the Italian epee specialists (yesterday the men, today the women) always disappear...
  19. Women's Team Epee Final Results Gold: Poland Silver: Russia Bronze: Italy Semifinals: Poland b. France 45-37 Russia b. Italy 36-35 Bronze Medal Match: Italy b. 20. Men's Team Sabre Final Results Gold: Germany Silver: Hungary Bronze: Italy Semifinals: Germany b. Italy 45-42 Hungary b. Romania 45-40 Bronze Medal Match: Italy b. Romania 45-35 Gold Medal Match: Germany b. Hungary 45-43 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: http://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/competition/4582-2018/results/
  21. total disaster for Italy in Judo... the only one still in contention is the only one who should not be even taken into consideration for an Olympic spot (Matteo Medves in the men's -66kg)... very, very disappointing tournament for our 2 top players fighting today (Manuel Lombardo and Odette Giuffrida, who's still in the tournament, but can't end up better than 5th -as she's gonna lose for sure the bronze medal contest, if she does qualify for that, since she would have to face either Kelmendi or Bouchard)...
  22. on the EJU's website you can also watch some judo (mat 1 and mat 3, mat 2 is only exclusive to the Minsk International service)... and on the ISSF website some of the shooting finals will also be available... so, there's still something to watch even without the ISB coverage...
  23. the mixed team events suck big time in any case...it's not only the format, it's the idea which is "pure horror"...
  24. here I'm suffering a big shower...sat tv pictures very unstable right now... by the way, Russia dominated the final and win the first Gold of the cjampionship...
