  1. @phelps is mourning the best sports app in Europe... https://www.espnplayer.com/espnplayer/help.jsp?dm_i=6WLK,H51G,1573LG,25HTN,1
  2. well, those who already entered the last world cup stages theiretically can qualify if they're capable to do it, that's another story in any case, the rule is: no teams (of course) and no to those fencers who are registered in Russia with the Army teams (CSKA, SKA an so on) or with clubs owned by oligarcs already sanctioned by the EU and/or UN all the others can still try and qualify, if they actually can on the piste
  3. @Rafa Maciel nooo please, don't get caught in the trap! don't feed the troll
  4. and here we go! we're not even close to Paris 2024 and our "friend" is already trolling about 2032 and luckily it looks he's not too much into Winter Olympics, otherwise with Milano-Cortina 2026 we would have material to die loughing 365 days/year, 24 hrs/day
  5. just another disappointing flop for
  6. but that's the same for most of the top swimming Nations although, here we have to take notice of the official quota places awarded by the IOC/FINA rules and because of those, there are a few swimmers that technically are already eligible to start the Olympic 10km race, even if they're not sure to go to the Olympics because of their own National rules (stricter than the International's)
  7. 1 - that's a shame and will turn to unfair, as I'm sure that the richest delegations will have their organized transport system with private cars & escorts 2 - it might turn out to be a good thing...with no coaches and doctors around, some last minute manipulation could be more difficult and hit some cheaters (unfortunately not the big ones, who are always very well organized)
  8. it looks like they're trying every trick to have GR wrestling removed from the Olympic program I'm waiting for something like this to happen in the Paris 2024 medal matches with some influent people going for a harsh protest against these rules and zac! the damage is done
  9. Medagliere al 18 Luglio Oro Argento Bronzo Total 0 2 2 4 Argento NUOTO ARTISTICO - Italia: duo tecnico (Linda Cerruti e Lucrezia Ruggiero) NUOTO IN ACQUE LIBERE - 5km Maschile (Gregorio Paltrinieri) Bronzo TUFFI - Italia: Trampolino 3m Sincronizzato (Chiara Pellacani ed Elena Bertocchi)* NUOTO IN ACQUE LIBERE - 5km Maschile (Domenico Acerenza) * = anche pass Olimpico diretto Pallanuoto Femminile 24 - 2
  10. 1) OK 2)wait, she's just come out from the juniors (where last year she won the world title with meters of margin on everybody else) this year she's not improved by much (and in fact I'm quite disappointed, even if she had some troubles, so there might be an explanation), but hammer throwers normally mature quite late in their years...I'm still convinced she'll be among the protagonists of the game in the future 3) my mistake 4) well, this year she's won the silver medal at the Indoor Europeans, she's won both DL meets where she's been in the field, she's beaten Mihambo the last 4 times they've been in the same meet (Indoor europeans, twice DL, EGs), she's the world leader (tied with Mihambo)...she's a newcomer, but she's been "on the podium" all season long, which makes her an "established" elite jumper to me from now on, I expect her to be always among the medal favourites in each and every competition (then, I agree that overall the discipline has gone down compared to the times of the heavy doping cheaters of DDR, URS, USA & Ajunwa...but that's another story...and it's a beautiful story)
  11. always! what kind of wine, it depends on the sausage, of course p.s. unless it's about artichoke, in that case wine (or beer) is not recommended, the only drink that goes with artichokes is a slightly gassed mineral water
  12. niente...errore mio
  13. Medagliere al 16 Luglio Oro Argento Bronzo Total 0 1 1 2 Argento NUOTO ARTISTICO - Italia: duo tecnico (Linda Cerruti e Lucrezia Ruggiero) Bronzo TUFFI - Italia: Trampolino 3m Sincronizzato (Chiara Pellacani ed Elena Bertocchi)* * = anche pass Olimpico diretto Pallanuoto Maschile 13 - 6
  14. it's quite a mess in windsurfing, now the preliminary races are of 3 types: the classic fleet, the slalom course and 1 longer fleet race (called Marathon) at the end of the prelims, the best sailor advances directly to the final, the 2nd and 3rd ranked advance to the semifinal and the remaining 7 of the top 10 (the actual medal contenders) go through to the quarterfinal race the top 2 of the quarterfinal advance to the semifinal, then the top 2 of the semifinal advance to the final, where the 3 finalists decide which medal color they get in kitesurfing, after the prelims, the top 2 advance to the final, meanwhile the remaining 8 among the top 10 are divided into 2 semis of 4 sailors each (serpentine system is normally used) here the best of the 4 starts with 2 "ghost wins", the 2nd best with 1 "ghost win" and the other two with no bonus points the 1st to get to 3 wins (ghost wins included, of course) wins the semifinal round and advance to the final, where we have the same scheme: the 1st of the prelims starts with 2 "ghost wins", the 2nd with 1 "ghost win" and the 2 kitesurfers coming from the semis with 0 bonus points once again, the 1st to 3 total wins is the champion, then for the remaining places it's up to the number of wins in the final round and in case of a tie, the actual placing in the last regatta is the decider I think we'll see a lot of occasional viewers (and also occasional broadcasters/reporters) with some strong headache come the Olympic thanks to these crazy formats
  15. p.s. Pellacani already had a quota place from the European Games how it works now? the 2nd placed diver in the EGs gets a quota (having the World Champs priority over the Continental Quota?)
  16. I only saw the last dive of the best pairs, therefore I'm only referring to that...and frankly I'm still asking myself how the final effort of GBR could be evaluated 60+ pts and (especially) the last American dive almost 55...it should have gone down to the 3/max 4 scores both for the non-synchro and also for the individual scores of one of the 2 divers luckily at least the Americans ended up behind but this whole judging system sucks big time
  17. yeah, I'd add both race walkers (Cosi & Mihai, who already had a good senior debut in the past 12 months) and Rachele Mori, who totally blew this championship and had a lot of troubles this year, but she's still very young and despite all the problems, she's already gone up to 69 meters in the hammer throw in her first senior year (in any case, she's also the most disappointing among our athletes in this season, Jacobs and his fragile muscles apart...I expected her to already overtake that loser named Fantini and it didn't even get close to happen) p.s. I'd also consider Ceccarelli still a promising youngster only (he's born in 2000, he could have been in Espoo), even if right now the expectations have gone so high with him p.p.s. Iapichino finally has become a bit more than "promising", now she's an established contender in the women's LJ
  18. I'm involved into the "pasta eating" and the "how lazy a man can be" programs at the moment I just can't be everywhere
  19. Larissa and the men's relays saved our ass in a pretty disappointing championship even if the overall number of medals looks pretty, in fact, we had very few finalists and/or competitive athletes in many events and way too many people underperforming moreover, many results that might look good are not so promising in perspective, which is the worst thing that can happen in an age class championship
  20. @MHSN Men's Sub-21 World Championships in Manama Gold: Iran Silver: Italy Bronze: Bulgaria Gold Medal match: b. 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-9) Bronze Medal match: b. 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-19) 4 years later, in the same place...and it's the same old story Iran beat Italy once again in the World final...and for us it's the 5th loss in 6 chances in a men's sub-21 world final
