  1. Yeah, good win today, but probably won't matter in the end. They should have won yesterday to have a chance.
  2. I don't know, if i can physically commit time to this edition, as things have been very busy recently. I will think it through in the next 2 days.
  3. Set point on a free ball at the net and of course it's out Another day at the office.
  4. From BG perspective CAN winning today is bad news. If ARG had won, then there was still chance they'd lose to NED, so those 3 teams had a loss each. Now we definitely have to beat all 3 of them and to make things more interesting, those matches are in 3 straight days. Of course if someone manages to sneak a win against Poland, that could also play a role. PS. This is in theory if BG team actually plays good though
  5. If Canada get win, they will be in a great position with 2 wins against direct rivals.
  6. Oh please, don't act as offended. Per capita data is useless, only total number of emissions are what matter in the big picture. Everyone knows what the air looks like in India. It's like night and day if you compare it to Bulgaria, or Europe as a whole. Sure, taking measures for 2 billion people is a very hard task, but i haven't seen any instances or talks of the Indian Government trying to tackle the carbon footprint and the huge number of emissions going to the atmosphere. And yes China should have never gotten the 2022 Olympics, i have made that opinion years ago. 2008 is a different story as climate change wasn't as evident, or known to the general population then, let alone the time they were awarded the Games. And even then, there were huge debates on the air situation in Beijing and the health of the athletes. I actually like India, in contrast to what you may believe. But i don't think, as a country you are ready to host the Olympics currently. If there is a plan for the next 10 years to change the course and make steps for a more clean future, then 2040-44 is a great opportunity.
  7. Whoa, is it Christmas already Did a just see our team have a great practical match, without dumb errors and effective play, like how the top teams perform.. Granted it was against a smaller team, but it's not like we didn't have 2-3 straight loses against China and similar teams the past few years. I still absolutely don't see us making top 2, but maybe we won't be the punching bag like in the past few tournaments. Thing is, if we keep a good form next week, we could play spoiler for someone else's chances for the Olympics.
  8. There have never been 3 straight non-European Olympics, Summer or Winter, in history. India could wait to 2040, or 2044, if a viable African bid appears for 40. Hungary 2036 is a superb idea and if the athletics (and swimming )Worlds were test events, Hungarians passed it with flying colours. Poland on the other hand, though also interesting on paper as a country, if the total catastrophy of the European Games is an indication, then better not. India can host when they start less polluting the planet in my opinion.
  9. Yeah, Poland doesn't really need to win here. A loss against Belgium would have made things very interesting for the other teams, that actually need the qualification. But allez.
  10. I am not sure who to root for. I think we are losing to both NED and CAN either way.
  11. Turkey have an upwardly team for some time now. Their results have gotten better and better to a point, where no top 10 team can take them without caution. Doing the damage to Serbia, but can they finish it.
  12. Having any Zermatt races is a bit sketchy i presume
  13. These tournaments were highly entertaining, though in the end, they wouldn't matter much, as all the top teams will qualify via the rankings (as FIVB would like to). The Dominican republic were the news, as they took advantage and won't sweat next summer in VNL for the points.
  14. 18 categories, 90 places, not 1 quota... Absolutely amazing in the most negative way. There is still Novikov tomorrow, but he is defacto Ukrainian, so the point still stands..
  15. This is an abysmal performance from our team. We are going lower and lower with every year.
  16. Just a daily reminder how shitty the website and the whole UWW is in general. You want to pay and it still doesn't let you in. Way to ruin the only important event you have for the year.
  17. Agree. Sadly wrestling has become the poster sport of foreign athletes, so Bahrain aren't doing something new. UWW want to have as many nations as possible, but when 40% in a category are naturalized, i am not sure what benefits it will bring.
  18. Expected Yazdani - Taylor final at 86. Below them things are looking bad for Europe. That old saying goes "If you can't get a quota at the Worlds, better hope your continent get lots of them, so the Continental qualifiers are easier".
  19. I am not sure if Hristov will make the heavyweights in +102. Fischerov was definitely the first option at 102 for a quota between the two of them. Yeah, we are entitled 3, with Andreev and Nasar certain to have 2 of those. Third one right now is going to be the 61 with Dimov (or Rusev if he manages to get a result). If Hristov cuts wait to 102, maybe they could consider him.
  20. Good thing i'll be traveling shortly and won't have to sit and watch their site giving error after error. Let's hope by Tuesday they can figure out how to run a website.
  21. Is this shit working with only credit cards? I tried with my virtual debit one and nothing.. Garbage site.
  22. There is no info on who's fault was this accident, just that it had happened, when he was on his way to the airport to fly out to the WC. You are right about Redzhep, though he was a wrestler His car had hit a hole on the road, the tire punctured and went of the road. What can i say, there is long standing opinion, that weightlifting is cursed here. I can't remember a time, where there isn't some kind of scandal, or issues, or plain stupidity that's happening. At least people aren't dying currently like they did 15-20 years ago. Though the current crop of athletes are with the same level of WTF, either it's Fischerov's car crash, Nasar's bizarre home incident, Andreev's ongoing mental lapses, or Hristov being thrown out of the team for bad behavior, awful training regime and his attempts to be a rapper... Still none of them have reached the peak of worldwide weightlifting legend Galabin Boevski, who was caught in Brazil for cocaine trafficking, sentenced to 9 years in prison and then mysteriously released after 2 years without any explanation.
  23. David Fischerov was supposed to make weight at 102 kg, but was in a car accident, while on his way to the airport.. Now after missing the WC he won't be at the Olympics. Really bad luck for this guy. He had a great Euro last year, but after that picked up an injury for many months and now this.
  24. With these draws i can't see a single men's freestyle quota for us. To make things even better, one of our best chances in GR, Kiril Milov at 97 picked up an injury a few days ago and is out of the WC.
  25. There have been more random GT winners recently, than Kuss (if they indeed let him win). He has showed multiple times, that he is a world class climber domestique already. I just wished he would have won a more fighting race against real competitors and not this joke Vuelta, where the scenario has been written for a week now..
