    Well, chances there for some new nation to join are next to none. Interval starts are easier by default, while the sprints will have an added difficulty of classic technique.

    Number of NOCs is just as important imo. Macedonia for example always has a female skier, and now suddenly they will not. They literally can't have an athlete even if one of them started winning World Cups next season, just to reiterate how bizarre the qualification system is.

    I'd be shocked if there were any reallocations though. PUR and TTO will basically qualify by default, while NCA not qualifying would mean they got a quota somewhere else (incredibly unlikely).

    Yap, a whole shitload of nations managed to qualify a man, but not a woman. And that is partly because men's qualification race gives lower points by default (due to different cut-off points).

    Well, they have a competent skier (Pyeongchang Olympian) who competed multiple times in Kazakhstan this season.

    Probably, although Skender already collected some points in Finland (a notable Top 30 result in the sprint). I guess we are right around the 30th place in both genders so this event could be crucial.

    Start lists are out. As feared, we will lose many nations for the Olympics. are already out for sure. As for the others, No chance of qualification - Could go either way - Everyone else should be safe to go under 300 pts (at least in one gender)...

    This is just IOC desperately trying to look good in the sea of current global events. Same things happened in 2016 with the refugee team. Refugees existed long before the 2015 European crisis.

    Thanks. This helps a lot actually. CDI-W stands for the World Cup, so I guess it will not go forward as planned. CDN is a national event.
