    I'm just surprised at how many federations simply postponed their qualifiers together with the Olympics. They had the better half of 2020, for what it was worth, to get something going. And yet, they postponed pretty much everything by 365 days...

    Damn I guess Rio really was a long time ago, making my memory iffy. So we get screwed by a ridiculous qualification system. Why even create a hierarchy of events if you are not going to use it? And, what, if the Europeans had got postponed (or NZ made up their mind earlier), Croatia would have qualified with the same exact outcome of races? Honestly, these kinds of random influences open the doors of corruption and quallification fixing wide open.

    Faivre getting two gold (!) medals after the season he had is utterly bizarre. He will be hard pressed to repeat any of this.

    Which does not explain why they say Cyprus qualified via the Europeans when they finished behind both CRO and BLR. Also, they used the same writing in 2016. Back then there were multiple examples of quotas getting retroactivelly transferred between Worlds and continental events, as explained above.

    Best case scenario: They used the right note ('Reallocated from European Championships'), but accidentally put it in a wrong row on their spreadsheet (Cyprus is righr under Croatia). Worst case scenario: I will have to clean up this mess myself because nobody from our federation even noticed it.

    Which is Greece. 2019 Worlds have priority over continental events. Greek quota then gets transferred to the continental level (Croatia).

    Although the season is basically over (for the top athletes anyway), it is interesting to see as many as 41 sleds entered for Igls this week.     Zrinka Ljutić tested positive, so no WCh for her. Too bad, she was quite ready to turn some heads. Still a chance she joins for the WC Finals (pending Junior WCh).

    We can do so quite easily. Chances are that Croatia and Russia will play 3rd place match. While I don't expect Russia to beat us twice, you can't argue that theey have not defeated us already.

    Not surprised. Like I said in other threads, our teams have a tendency of playing bad against lower ranked teams. That's why it is pretty unfortunate to even be a part of this tournament, they should have qualified already. And if they miss out, then I will seriously hope for the Games to get cancelled.

    As long as the WC Final is still on, I might as well keep up with the updates... This is all very Olympics-being-held dependent. If the IOC cancels them, I'm sure FEI will immediately pull the plug on this, since they pretty much took all financial responsibilities from Gothenburg.     It also means they (organizers, athletes, live timing people) did not know the rules in the moment the race was over. It just adds more questions over integrity. Also... Why not use the photo finish? Since it is literally possible to use it.

    I mean, if this ever gets added to the Olympics, it just means IOC has no backbone whatsoever. Litterally could not sink any lower than this.
