  1. Women's course is too short but tolerable. If the SG was any indication, men's course is a total disaster. I do hope Milan/Cortina will change some venues... It's not like the Olympics will not be held all over Italy anyway.
  2. Rich Fellers (WC champion, London Olympian) becomes the latest American equestrian to be suspended by SafeSport over "Allegations of Misconduct". SafeSport really does have an excellent track record. Their last victim was Bob McDonald, who was suspended, had his name driven through mud, got ostracized by the equestrian community... Only to have the allegations dropped and everything reinstated. You know, guilty until proven innocent.
  3. Galina Vishnevskaya-Sheporenko will be sporting her new name tomorrow.
  4. Gassner, Eitberger, Friedrich and Lochner are fine I guess. As for Hermann, she seems to have two moods. Hyper - when she wins. Gloomy - when she is 2nd or lower.
  5. Colombia's qualification and Chile's non-qualification are really the only items of note. Chile will be hard pressed to deliver in Oberstdorf. I highly doubt it, in fact.
  6. Only 31 starters for the women's downhill. I'm super excited to see if there will be a commercial break after BiB 30.
  7. Gretha Ferreira announced she has a baby due in August. As of today, she was the only South African dressage rider with confirmed MER, so this puts their participation in uncertainty. Tanya Seymour, Laurienne Dittman and Nicole Smith have their chances to obtain MER, though. Should they fail to get another MER athlete, Diana Al-Shaer stands to gain a place for Palestine.
  8. What's up with Germany entering such athletes? So weird.
  9. Crni 61st and +0.1 out of pursuit. Not like he would have started in it anyway (he is our own Kočergina ). Good to see him saving the season's best shooting for the big stage.
  10. Not a great fan of Hermann, but a jogger like Loelling losing is always good.
  11. Well, Silveira solidifies her status as firmly the best Brazilian Winter athlete of this quad.
  12. This week Poggio II joined the late Amy Tryon.
  13. I don't think even Almaty is interested in Almaty.
  14. Reading the start list for tomorrow, momentarily I mistook RBU for BRU.
  15. What a dull race. Lots of wasted runs due to drifting. Ugh. Next time stay at home if you are not going for it (or consult Baumann, Seger).
  16. Alex Tilley better stick with short boards if this is any indication.
  17. Sun is gone. Absolutely no chance for any of the remaining starters.
  18. The thing is, even if every single athlete gets vaccinated beforehand (not gonna happen), vaccines are still only about 90% efficient at best. That leaves around 1000 athletes that could potentially get excluded (in this, the most optimistic scenario).
  19. Uhlaender leads defending champion Hermann by 0.34 and Flock by 1.10.
  20. Best Weekend All Year is back on thanks to donations from the eventing community, making it possible to run without spectators. Spectators are of course an important part of the BWAY, but at least it is something.
